First time visit to Calesa’s. Recommended by my friend Chef Mike. If he says it is good food then I know I have to try it.
We were a party of four and each of us had a different entree. Let me tell you now, absolutely everything was delicious. From the fresh chips and salsa, the hibiscus tea, to the various entrees including carne asada, quesadillas, bistek Mexicana, and my order of Platillo Calesa (carne asada/shrimp/chicken), all the way to the dessert of Tres Leche cake. It tasted like authentic homemade Mexican food should. Mike has never let me down and he certainly didn’t this time. We will be back as often as possible and wish Mike and Calesa’s the best of luck on their new collaboration. It was great to see Mike back in a kitchen doing what he does best. Give this place a try, you can thank me later.

Was an a great close to home place to eat for me. It's hard to find healthy quick small meals to eat. They offer sopes a la carte. This was a great quick small meal for me to order as a pick up order. But now they are unable to offer this item as a pick up unless I were to purchase more.Also I would call and place my order and they would sometimes act as though they could not understand me. I try to pronounce the words as proper as I could. I would sometimes find this odd but hey. I understand the business of it all, it's just terrible for me. I would sometimes order 2 with rice. Its a good place to eat tho. It just no longer serves me!

What used to be a very small Taqueria is now a decent sized wonderful authentic Mexican food restaurant! The prices are not bad at all and you can get full quickly! Caution, they do have a hot sauce if you ask for it I’m sure you will need a firetruck
Parking: There is not room for a semi truck
Kid-friendliness: This is a family oriented business children are welcome
Wheelchair accessibility: It’s ground level easy to get in as long as someone holds the door and I’m sure one of the young ladies will hold the door when they see you coming

Friendly atmosphere right when you walk in the door. Seating is your choice, and your service is five stars ?. Salsa ? was delicious with a bit of fire ? at the back of your tongue after a few tastings. Street tacos ? absolutely delish, and the Quesabirria was the bomb ? . The ice tea was perfect. Tasted fresh, not stale or old, right on point. For dessert, nicely served with swirls of strawberry sauce on the side with a generous portion of cheesecake? with a creamy whipped topping and a strawberry ? to add the touch. DATDEB highly recommends this restaurant.

Thank god for places like this... As a vegetarian and a picky eater i was able to modify my order with out an issue. Alot of places make it difficult. The ladies of the establishment were pleasant. They even had black beans available which many places in East Texas don't have unfortunately. I didn't order any meat so they gave me a discount which sold me and I am very appreciative. I inquired about making other dishes for my next visit and to my surprise upon receiving my order they made me a sample of the dish i inquired about for free... The food was authentic and delicious and i will return for more. Highly recommend

Made a quick run to Kilgore and wanted Mexican. I'm glad I stopped here, they took our seafood allergies seriously, which is a plus for me. Food was amazing, the waiter was amazing and the cleanliness of this establishment was top tier. Will be back.
