First time visit to Calesa’s. Recommended by my friend Chef Mike. If he says it is good food then I know I have to try it.
We were a party of four and each of us had a different entree. Let me tell you now, absolutely everything was delicious. From the fresh chips and salsa, the hibiscus tea, to the various entrees including carne asada, quesadillas, bistek Mexicana, and my order of Platillo Calesa (carne asada/shrimp/chicken), all the way to the dessert of Tres Leche cake....
Was an a great close to home place to eat for me. It's hard to find healthy quick small meals to eat. They offer sopes a la carte. This was a great quick small meal for me to order as a pick up order. But now they are unable to offer this item as a pick up unless I were to purchase more.Also I would call and place my order and they would sometimes act as though they could not understand me. I try to pronounce the words as proper as I could. I would sometimes find this odd...
What used to be a very small Taqueria is now a decent sized wonderful authentic Mexican food restaurant! The prices are not bad at all and you can get full quickly! Caution, they do have a hot sauce if you ask for it I’m sure you will need a firetruck
