Get you food to go! The ribs are flavorful and fall off the bone tender. The brisket is soft but fatty. The flavor is caramelized on the fat side. So if you remove the fat, you remove a lot of the flavor. The smoked turkey has good smoked flavor but I'm not a huge turkey fan. I like it a bit more juicy. The 'spicy' Mac and cheese is simply HOT 🔥 without much flavor, is super thick but not gooey cheesy. The potatoes casserole is pretty good but could take it or leave it in my opinion. Again, not a lot of flavor.
This place is very noisy and not a lot of lighting as it is a tavern. The juke box was going most of the time too.
The service was nearly the worst I've seen! The server was annoyed when we asked if there was a menu. It was near the end of the meal, her hands were full and she leaned over from the other table to ask is we were ok. Never saw her again till my friend was offered a box. I had to request one as one was not brought for me too.
The dessert was very dry, even for a cobbler. I should've passed but we all know I love dessert!
So, if you must stop here, get the ribs to go and keep driving! The BBQ sauce is decent but the ribs don't need it.

The ribs were good. The brisket was good. The sausage was good. The spicy macaroni was good. The young lady that, helped me. She was the only one that! even spoke to me or even smiled. Thank you, today was my first visit. I sat at the bar with the black cowboy hat on. Thank you ma'am for being so nice.

Great tavern/restaurant with delicious ribs that fall off the bone. The cowboy beans are extremely tasty as well as the potato salad. Price a little high, but we'll worth it.

We sat ourselves in an open booth. The table was not clean and the waitress never wiped it down after taking our drink order or after the food order.
I ordered the five rib plate and the wife three. We each got four. Adds up but felt slighted.
Ribs were ok, a little dry. The bread had no flavor. The Mac n cheese wasn't very warm and the beans had great flavor but the beans seemed under cooked. I can't even describe how the flat Pepsi tasted.
Was a huge disappointment as we heard the food was good but high prices. Food was uck with high prices.
We went to Country Taven per the suggestion of a local. The ribs were fantastic.

I ate here a couple of years ago when I was traveling through East Texas. It's a little off the highway, but it's well worth the stop. Still some of the best barbeque I've ever had.
