Went here on a whim, and so glad I did. It is in an interesting location, but don't let that scare you off. The Elk dinner was unbelievable. Better than any steak I have ever had. Bartender was incredibly friendly and helpful with her recommendations. I'll dream about this meal.

Seated in the bar although dining room was wide open and we had reservations. We were offered dining room only after balking at bar table seating and bar tender doubling as our waitress. Keep in mind that a la carte steaks are ~$60. That said, drinks were well made, my steak was ample and delicious.

The experience was fun. Our server Carlos was phenomenal. He took us through favorites on the menu, gave suggestions, and treated us like honored guests. The food was fabulous, especially the braised beef ribs. We enjoyed the cocktails as well. Just a really quiet, beautiful experience for my wife's 50th birthday dinner.
One of my favorite places to eat. So happy to have this hidden gem in East Texas. Lunch or dinner, it never disappoints.

Stopped by for Valentine's Day reservations. 1st time visit. Staff were excellent!! 5 stars right there. However this is known in the area as a high end type steakhouse and pricey. Some wonderful choices and all of the food was nice, so don't get me wrong, very nice again. Just a couple dings on pricing. I did not feel the food and atmosphere were worthy of those prices but heck who isn't charging higher prices these days. The chef did have great plate presentations. Just maybe too much going on with my steak. Will I be back, sure. It was nice to try but I will save it for others to request.

I ate here by myself for my first visit, it was early in the middle of the week. There was only a few tables occupied, so service was quick and the food was very good. For my second visit, I brought my spouse, it was a bit busier. we walked in and were not greeted by any of the 3 hostesses at the podium, after a minute or so of awkward silence, we asked is there any available seating to which now there were 5 people staring at the podium, and the response was a quick, " we're looking. After standing there for what seemed like an awkward few minutes more, I looked at my wife, she looked at me and we turned and walked out the door. None of the 5 waiters waitresses and or hostesses said one word. I would not be able to convince my spouse to go back there for any reason after the interaction at the so called high end restaurant. Bummer because the food was good.. Odds are 50%, by my experience that you will have a good experience or a bad experience. Roll the dice. The reason for the 3 stars was there 50% success rate..
