Young's was once a place I'd drive to from Corpus Christi but they remodeled it into some sort of hipster wanna be bar. The food was crap. The prices were sky high but food quality was dramatically lower. We stopped a couple of times otw to the Valley but won't again.

🍕 A Slice of Kingsville History at Young's Pizza & Bar

If you're craving more than just a great meal—if you're after a taste of Kingsville tradition—then Young's Pizza & Bar is the place to be. Nestled on West Santa Gertrudis Street, this local gem has been serving up comfort and community since 1956, when Roy and Margo Young first opened Young’s Root Beer Drive-In. Just two years later, they introduced pizza to the town, becoming Kingsville’s very first pizzeria. That’s right—Young’s didn’t just join the party, they started it.

The legacy continued when their son Danny took the reins in 1966, adding hot sandwiches and submarine classics to the menu. By 1977, Young’s had moved to its current location, and in 1980, longtime manager Scott Conard bought the place outright, ensuring the tradition stayed strong and local.

Today, Young’s Pizza & Bar still feels like a warm hug from the past—with a modern twist. The service is exceptional: friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you're a longtime local or just passing through, the staff makes you feel like part of the family. It’s the kind of place where your order comes with a smile and maybe even a story.

The pizza? Classic, satisfying, and full of flavor.

Very nice remodeled location. The best pizza and sandwiches in the area. Martinis are excellent. Watermans you got great companion. Plenty of sports and new bar with plenty of seating. Don't miss this place still going strong since 1980s.

Can’t speak to in house since we ordered delivery. The changes made to original menu items were super disappointing after growing up eating here. Stromboli was dry overall with thick chunky meat that didn’t have much flavor and the cheese wasn’t really melted at all. The roll/bun it came in seemed a bit stale. Patootie was okay, but again the meat was lacking.

On second order, we tried the sampler and churros. Brisket nachos and churros were great and I’d happily order them again. Stuffed mushrooms were flavorless, might be okay if they added seasoning to the cream cheese. Cheese sticks, wings, and onion rings were not eaten due to being mushy, typical fried fare that wasn’t worth it.

normally when we go it's good, but our last visit we went it wasn't busy at all. It was on a Wednesday evening. After we sat down it took awhile to get a menu and then our drinks but that's ok, it gave us time to look over the menu. When we ordered my husbands food and my kids food came out 25 minutes before mine. By the time mine came out my husband and my kid had finished their entire meals and drinks and ordered another round of drinks. I ordered the pizza. It was extremely floppy and soggy in the middle to where the dough was literally see through.

What a disappointment. 1st time we dined there we ordered the Tecicali expecting it to taste the same before the owner change, NOPE, not even close. Then they added a bar. Made the small space more noisy. Second time we went. We left after 10 minutes, just paid for the drinks we ordered. They had live music in the patio and it was LOUD. We went inside expecting it to be quieter, nope, they had the door leading to the patio wide open, letting in the flies and the loud music. Couldn't stand the loudness, so asked waitress if they could close the door. Nothing happened and our waiter said they had to come in and out. So after paying for our drinks we left, went to Pizza Parlor instead and had an awesome meal with great background music from the jukebox. I recommend you go there. Delicious pizza and sandwiches
