The real REAL here...ok is that this place just makes ya feel better. Yeah, yeah the food...pretty great but even when you take a lunch by yourself; it feels like you are with everyone there. ( not in the ' in your face way') Well - just check it out for yourself...you'll see.

Just went in for the first time to have a burger with my co worker after work. Food was great but the service sucked. Host sat us at a table. And asked what we wanted to drink. 5 minutes go by then a female server comes and asks if we wanted to take it to go or dine in? I was like dine in. Confused on why she would ask that. Then when I said dine in she kinda gave like this sigh and was like what do u want to drink. We waited another 10 minutes got our drinks then a few minutes later our food. It was a different person who gave us our food. We had no napkins. No one didn't even come by to check on us or anything. Didn't even wait for the check. I walked up to counter to pay. If I had waited on getting the ticket I probably would have still been sitting there.

Had a new server. She put my order in wrong and when I questioned her as to what she brought me she answered, I brought what you ordered. I did not order Blackened Tilapia ( it wasn't Blackened) I ordered the Hamburger Steak. They remade the entree but served it raw. Just gray on the outside. By order from the manager on duty. They rushed it to get it out and served it up raw in the center. My wife and I love Elijah's and this is the first time that we've had any issues. For as my server goes she was new so she gets a pass but the manager should have known better. I have over 25 years in the restaurant business as an Owner/manager and this was unacceptable from management on duty that night. I still tipped the server Ten Dollars on a 30 dollar tab. She still has things to learn but I believe she's going to do well .

Don't be confused by the humble exterior. This place is amazing! They don't try to be anything fancy, the food is just what it says it is. The subtle art of comfort food shines here at Elijah's, a jewel of Kirbyville.
Food was amazing, but new worker needs to be fired (teenager with glasses). Talked to his friends, scratched his head/hair, drinks stayed empty, and was beyond unprofessional.

Called my order in at 6pm go pick my food up at 6:20pm set in the drive thru for over 5 minutes before someone comes to the window pay for my food then told to pull around and they will bring my food out,set for 10 mins no food go back to drive thru wait another 5 mins when finally a young man comes to the window to give me my food. When I go to complain he started getting rude and shut the window in my face.

I got Chicken tenders, fried okra, with red beans and rice. The food tasted good. I ate at 2:00 PM. at 7:30 PM, I vomit it all out. They undercooked my chicken tenders, now I'm sick for half a week. I HATED this place. If you're an employee reading this, PLEASE, I say PLEASE, just cook your food right!!!
