Portofino’s in Krum, Texas, is a true hidden gem for Italian cuisine, and my husband and I have been coming here since the week it opened. We feel lucky to enjoy such exceptional food without having to drive to the DFW Metroplex. The Salmon Bella Donna is a standout dish for us—perfectly cooked and bursting with delightful flavors. The owner is incredibly friendly and genuinely committed to improving the restaurant, always making us feel welcomed and valued. The cozy, inviting atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing meal. We highly recommend Portofino’s to anyone craving authentic Italian food!

This is a hidden Gem. Food is outstanding and is moderately priced. I usually eat the Sea Bass entree’s. Maybe a little salty but is still outstanding. Best Italian food I’ve ever eaten. We always dine in.

This place was garbage. Flies everywhere at the host counter. Took 73 minutes for a small order. Gave me nasty calamari instead of the garlic bread we wanted. The chicken Parm was awful. My kid said my Alfredo was better than he got from here. The lady at the front looked to be drunk or on something. She started drama with 2 other servers while I was there. This will not be a place I take my family to ever again. Their going to hurt someone with that food. Btw that calamari was super trash. Rubber taste. No seasons at all. Marinara tasted like old ketchup. That was a $65 dollar meal. That enough said. If I could have given 0 starts I would have. It's deserving.

I am a worker here and I can personally say that this is a great place to work at. I love the team I work with and the owner Alfredo is always here working alongside the back of house and front of house! This is one of the best staff crew that I’ve ever worked alongside with in the food service industry! Everything the owner and kitchen staff makes is freshly made! Never have any complaints with his food from any customer I’ve waited on since working here which has been at least almost a year

Tried calling several times to place an order for pizza. Line was busy for 30 minutes. Walked in, place was empty and they were “surprised” the phone was off the hook. Tried placing the order. It didn’t go well and we left. Tried to call 5 minutes after leaving the restaurant to see if the phone was still busy, and it was. After reading the most recent review (concerning maggots) and the place being completely empty at prime dinner time on a
Saturday night, we feel we dodged a bullet.

There were maggots and flies in the parmesan cheese at the table. The waiter said it wasn't his problem because it is not his responsibility. He also mocked me for saying something on the menu wrong because I don't speak Italian. My wife and two kids were there yesterday to try it out and support a local business. When it was brought to our waiters attention that there were maggots and flies in the cheese his only comment was that it's not his responsibility. He did not even offer to take the cheese away from the table or replace the meals that we had put cheese on. My food was just a bowl of pasta and sausage boiling in grease. My son's pizza was not even cooked enough for all the cheese to melt. We got up from our table and left the restaurant without eating any of our food. It would be good for this place to go out of business to open up the space for someone that wants to manage a good local restaurant. I've been all over the world and for sure this is one of my top 10 worst dining experiences.

Lived in the DFW area my entire life; discovered the restaurant about 7 years ago. Although there are more expensive, more classier and more sophisticated Italian food restaurants in the Metroplex you want find better food, friendlier service and a low key atmosphere than Portifino’s. Who would ever think it would be in a small country town.
The Lobster Ravioli, the rolls with the fresh garlic dipping sauce and the Ceasar salad is my go to dish. All the other pasta dishes with your choice of sauces are just as delicious as well as their pizza. The wine selection is also quite memorable.

The gracious and welcoming owner is almost always there and also does most of the cooking. Finally the prices are very reasonable. Can’t wait to go again. Driving time from DFW AP is around 50 minutes. But it’s worth it..
