My favorite donuts just about anywhere! I try to get there early for the bear claws or apple fritters, they sell out fast. The cinnamon rolls are like I remember from the old days, big and spicy, crunchy on the outside edge, and soft in the middle.

Went in was just 1 person working, food industry is tough, guy seemed over stimulated. Works fast paced so have order ready to go. Donut holes and Kolaches were good as well.

We lucked upon this place when visiting family for early coffee a couple of weeks ago. We wanted fresh donuts and just saw their sign and stopped. Very small, non-descript place, so we were a little leary. But it ended up being a great decision.
They had the biggest, best Apple Fritters I have seen. So I purchased their last 4. I also bought 6 donuts. We soon found out we were lucky to find the apple fritters after 8AM. They are always sold out because they are famous. People even come over from Austin to buy them. Who knew? They also threw in about 10 donut holes!
These Apple Fritters were so good that the family was fighting over them. We probably couldn't have planned this better.
Advice: If you are driving past Kyle, Texas, early in the morning, stop into Hays City Dounts! And hurry!
Parking: Parking can be a short wait early morning.
Kid-friendliness: Kids love donuts, and they have sprinkles!

They no longer have the Asian food they are strictly all donuts now but it's ok I liked the fruity pebbles donut they had and the prices are affordable. I just wish the food was more fresh.
