I'm gonna break this review down a bit and just start with the highlights and then get down to the nitty gritty: 1. Cream Cheese Rangoons: DELICIOUS. Best ones I've ever had. They're big too. And I love that they do em' up right with the little touch of green onion. 2. Eggrolls: Awesome. They remind me of these eggrolls on a stick I used to get as a teenager at the Fair. 3. General Tso Chicken: This is great. It's debatably better than their orange chicken. Their orange chicken is good too tho! 4. Fried rice: OKAY.... THAT AIN'T FRIED RICE. That is white rice with soy sauce. No pizazz. The only time I like peas and carrots are when they're in fried rice. This rice had no peas or carrots. A little scrambled egg in fried rice goes a long way. Just literally white rice with soy sauce. Put some love into the fried rice Koy! 5. Combination Lo Mein: this could be so good if it wasn't absolutely drenched in sauce. The sauce was so thick it was like a brown gravy. It tastes okay but is kind of one note. Less sauce. Let the flavors of the food shine through versus it being ALL SAUCE. I'd give Koy a 3.7 review. I'll round up because there is definite potential here. They just need to figure out how to make fried rice and go easy on the lo mein sauce. GET THE RANGOONS THO!!!!!!!!
I just moved here from Georgia and didn't realize they hadn't been opened since covid began last year for dine in. The guy who checked me out was super friendly. I ordered the ninja roll and a spicy tuna roll. I don't get why there are so many negative reviews for this restaurant. The spicy tuna was very good, the ninja roll just wasn't my favorite but that's my preference - not that anything was wrong with it. As far as inside - they aren't doing dine in so obviously utilizing space. I could care less as long as the cooking area is clean. I hope to give them another try for the Chinese side of the menu. Local business only survive with local support. I believe if Koy will prioritize fresh ingredients it will be around for a while.
I ordered sushi for pick up and was astounded at what I walked into. I'm guessing since covid there's no dining in, so they have let the interior go. It was super messy, boxes/supplies ALL over. When I walked in I was nervous that I wasn't supposed to see it or be in there. I'm still not really sure if I was supposed to go in. I've never seen anything like it. I was reluctant to go through with the order, but I did. The sushi was good. It was a little pricey for what it was, but there's not much competition in the area so I guess they can get away with it. If I ordered take out I would've left a better rating, but seeing the interior grossed me out and tainted my experience.
If you enjoy the food here then you've never been to a good Chinese restaurant. The owner says this is the best Chinese for in all of Hay County which might be true since they have no competition. Not a fan.
The people that say the sushi is delicious obviously don't know how good sushi tastes. It was disappointing especially considering I could have eaten comparable sushi at HEB for $30 less. The rolls are obviously pre-made and refrigerated. Fish or topping added as orders are received. There's no other reason the rice would be so hard and cold. The rice that came with the Chinese dish we ordered was fresh so I don't understand why the rice on the sushi was so terrible and tough to eat. Didn't come close to finishing what we ordered so we tossed it like I'm tossing their phone number.
With all due respect to negative reviewers, most of them are complaining just for the sake of trying to get free food/making ridiculous complaints like babies. For example, the person complaining about $0.50 sauce and giving it a one star just for that. Not to dismiss all complaints, but take note that there are some ridiculous ones. I'd ignore them and give this resturant a try. I recently tried Koy and it was great tasting food, sure they're a little messy but I'm not there to rate their style, just here for the food. My order was the sweet and sour chicken, egg drop soup, egg roll, and steam rice. Came out warm and tasty, definitely coming back for more. I hope that a future online ordering option comes because I am a little shy to talk to strangers but the nice people taking the calls make it bearable.
General Tso's chicken was SOOOO chewy that I could only focus on not choking on it while eating. Otherwise good. Fix yalls chewy chewy chicken meat.
Do not use DoorDash to place a delivery order. I used DoorDash because Koy is listed and their full menu is on the app. Placed my order at 5:26 PM. Got a confirmation email that my order was placed. By 6:45PM my food delivery hadn't arrived so I called Koy to find out if there was a problem, gave them my name and address and I was told my order was going to arrive "any minute". By 7:10PM I knew there had to be a problem when still no delivery. The person answering the phone said they don't use DoorDash, so they never got my order. I told her that I had called and I was told my order was arriving any minute. She then said they were training someone, which I find it hard to believe if I gave someone my name and address even someone "in training" would be able to know if I did or didn't have an order pending with the restaurant. I was then told I need to figure out with DoorDash how to get my money back for the order I placed. There was no attempt to make the situation right by Koy. I was very disappointed by their lack of customer service and oh well attitude.
Didn't think it was very professional or clean ... food was ok but super expensive for what we got. There's definitely better options in buda for Chinese food
My friend put me onto the mushroom soup, but the trick is to order an extra serving of chicken! Its very tasty, lite, and a great portion!

Great service, starting from when I called to order and when I picked up the food. Food was delicious and the egg rolls were really good.
Poor customer service!!! They sent us burnt shrimp and the wrong order twice on 2 separate times. The first time was no big deal but the second time was when the manager was totally disrespectful and pretty much told me we are stuck with what we got to just eat it. They just lost a customer that was spending over 100$ a week just to save money on a kids plate.
Bought my first takeout from this restaurant today and I asked if I could have some hot sauce. I was told that it's going to cost $0.50 Definitely left a bitter taste after hearing that.
This was a huge disappointment. Ordered at 5:50 pm to pickup at 7:15. Ordered was brought out to our car at 7:45. The food was cold. The fried rice was dry. The chicken for lemon chicken was tough. The crab rangoons were tough, like they had been cooked way to early and then sat out. The lo mein tasted old and the teriyaki ribs were burnt. Definitely not worth 60.00 dollars. Fast food next time.
I've ordered takeout from Koy a few times since I moved here and I love it. So far I have just gotten the Kung Pao Chicken and the cream cheese rangoons. You get a lot of food and the lunch specials are a good deal. The people who answer the phone are always super nice.
