Queso and margaritas good. Steak overcooked. Placed this new restaurant in a strip mall off the interstate. Indoor patio are faces parking lot. Acoustics so bad you can't hear yourself think. 7pm on a Friday night full of families and kids. Not the downtown vibe I remembered.

Oh my GOSH !! Had not been to Z Tejas in years. What a comeback of a Brand ! Went on a Sunday Noon, Awesome entertainment, the service was over the top always with a smile. The Margaritas were tasty, made to order, with a huge selection ! The food was over the top ! Try the Catfish Beignets for an app ! Whew ! As close to New Orleans as yo can get ! What a great relaxed space, very comfortable, and feels like a neighborhood gathering spot ! Much needed in the South I-35 corridor.

Yum. I am so glad this restaurant is back near me. Always loved it and still do. Fajitas today w the fam and everything was delish. Their featured drink is a watermelon margarita and it’s super tasty as well.

The service is unparalleled. Beautiful aesthetic, food arrived exactly as ordered and hot. Waiters suggestions were welcomed and impeccable.

Great vibes and good drinksEdit: The food was ok, it was nothing special. The drinks are great though. We were asked to leave reviews and join emails to get a free drink and chips (chips aren’t free there). My girlfriend got the fish there and later that night she had food poisoning. I know that because she had fish and shrimp and she shared the shrimp with me. So it was the fish that got her sick. It was a rough celebration since she ended up getting food poisoning later that night.

Excellent service, the manager had just closed the patio seating but let us sit out there and even lit the firetables upon my wife's request. Food was excellent, love the Texas trio and the adobo chorizo meatloaf was excellent.

Nice place atmosphere was great the entertainment was wonderful. The drinks were good. Unfortunately the food is not good.., the fajitas an chicken was overcooked and chewy looks good, but chicken and a fajitas were tough and chewy, I’m not sure what it was called but I had the fish with shrimp Cajun so salty that I had to give it back could not eat it pure salt. Maybe it was cajun salt, but not good, if you’re looking for a little atmosphere drinks and entertainment. That’s all! I’m not sure how long the gentlemen, entertainers will be there, but that was pretty good mucic, unfortunately, food not good…

I liked the old ztejas layout better. This new open concept feels like I'm in a glass fish bowl. No private tables to enjoy dinner away from the Kyle rif raff.Btw my burger was cooked well done...don't serve a burger well done at anytime ?

Great experience overall. Very upscale and a little pricey but generous portions to match. We were just celebrating a couple hours without kids so just ordered appetizers. The Tejas Trio is ample, but I will say that the Green Chile Pork was so good that I just want a bowl of it next time. I do not like tomatillo much, but this take was very well balanced to where it was perfectally complemented. The pork was super tender, too. The borracho beans were very good. My wife said the queso was good (not my thing). Jist be prepared for sticker shock.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The buffet is good, especially for children. They get a discounted buffet rate also. Ask for the off menu specials.

This location is top notch from the moment you walk in the door! Immediately seated, taken care of, multiple employees checked on us. Our waitress was amazing! They had live music, which added to the ambiance! You could tell all the employees were happy to work there! I don't have pictures, but it all was good, from the catfish beignets that we had for an appetizer, to our main dishes, chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies, to the barbacoa enchiladas, everything was tasty! Would recommend! Oh, and the ancho fudge pie was the perfect end.. homemade whipped topping on a fudge brownie.. perfection!
