Food was so bad I had to leave

Great food, great drinks and great customer service. The owner is very friendly. They even have a fun mini claw machine to play.

This is a jewel in the rough. I am so so glad we stumbled upon this amazing establishment while we were out running errands. The creamy jalapeno dip that comes for free with chips and salsa is addictive. I poured this stuff on my entree too. The fajitas were just as good (maybe slightly better) than Lupe’s. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The pico was super fresh and nothing was wilted. The beef enchiladas were delicious. I want to go back and try all the different enchiladas. The only minor miss was the rice that comes with the entrees. It was quite dry but flavor was good.

I will be returning soon regardless of how far the drive is!!

I love this place. Never had a bad meal. Everything is fresh and prepared daily. Lakeway is lucky to have this hidden gem.

I really like this restaurant. Food is honestly good. The servers are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Casual, easy going atmosphere and great ' Rita's.

I had never heard of this place until a friend asked if I wanted to try it with her. It ended up being just right around the corner from where I was staying! I had the most amazing carne guisada omlett! I had never had one but you can bet I'll be going back for it again! Very nice staff and atmosphere.

I live close to this place but hadn't experienced it until recently, there are a lot of texmex places around and I've been to almost all of them. The chile rellenos here are easily THE BEST I've had, maybe ever. They're so fresh! Their frozen house margaritas are amazing, the staff is great, and I love the atmosphere. Their bar seats are always full of friendly people. I'd maybe like to see more fans in the outside area so you can watch the beautiful Lakeway sky as the sun goes down without sweating your butt off so much, but that's a tiny inconvenience compared to all the awesome pros of this restaurant.

I used to work at Grill On Tex Mex, but now that I’m no longer there, I can finally give my honest opinion—and let me just say, the food is fantastic! If you’re looking for a spot that consistently delivers on flavor, this is it.

My personal favorites? The pork chop plate and the chipotle shrimp—absolutely delicious! The pork chop is juicy, perfectly seasoned, and always cooked just right. And the chipotle shrimp? Flavorful and delicious with just the right amount of kick. It’s a must-try.

But honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the tacos. Whether you’re into beef, chicken, or something a little different, they’ve got you covered. The tacos are always fresh and packed with flavor.

Beef and chicken fajita tacos typically come with lettuce tomato and cheese however, I always got them with cilantro onion and “secret spicy verde salsa” with lime.

One thing that really stands out about Grill On Tex Mex is how much the owner, Fidel, takes pride in his restaurant. Fidel isn’t just the face of the business—he’s hands-on, often working right alongside his kitchen staff. You’ll frequently find him in the kitchen, making sure every dish meets his high standards before it leaves the line.

He’s passionate about every plate being perfect, from the flavor to the presentation, and it shows. His dedication really elevates the dining experience, and you can tell it’s more than just a business to him—it’s personal. It’s that kind of care and attention to detail that makes the food at Grill On Tex Mex so consistently good.

So even though I used to work there, I’m not exaggerating when I say the food is worth a visit! Great spot, great food, and definitely a go-to for anyone craving Tex-Mex

5 stars to our server Sandro (Angel)! He did so great taking on our party of about 20. Friendly, attentive, personal, we really appreciate Sandro and his co-workers.

If you want a flavor minimal experience like Flores but without a patio, they've got you. Why make a dish with 10 ingredients when you can do it with four? Their food isn't bad, it's just not good. Completely unremarkable. Go to Tulum, or even La Gordibuena.
