My wife and I visited Lala’s on January 14, 2026, while we were staying at Garner State Park. We drove into Leakey for lunch ahead of some approaching bad weather and ended up here after discovering the restaurant we originally planned to visit was closed. I’m very glad that worked out the way it did.
They serve breakfast all day, which is what we both chose. Our meals came with fresh, homemade tortillas that were absolutely delicious. The menu is extensive, and we’re already looking forward to returning so we can try more of their offerings. Both my wife’s entrée and mine were excellent.
It’s a small, cozy place, but definitely worth a visit. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The prices were also very reasonable, especially for the quality of the food.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we’ll gladly stop by again next time we’re in the area.

I hate to say this I ate there it was awful.My eggs were to runny salsa was pace.And our menudo had no flavor.The staff were nice and did their job.It just seemed like they were understaffed.restrooms had no paper or ways to dry hands.Not visiting again.

Horrible experience, waited an hour for our food. Worst waitress ever said she lost our ticket. Everyone after us received their food. A group of ten riders came in and everyone got their food in a timely manner. We should have asked at 30 minutes but just thought small restaurant let’s wait a bit, a bit turned into an hour and then came the apology and the truth we lost the ticket. If you don’t want to serve us just tell us, we can walk out the same way we walked in. Can’t rate the food we did not get to taste it. Waitress did apologize. Small town Texas is supposed to pleasant, we have been visiting Garner and the surrounding towns for years and we have never had an experience worst than this. Don’t mean to rant but it’s the truth. Go to Mill Creek Cafe excellent food excellent service it took them 5 minutes.

We were very disappointed in the food here and left hungry and very dissatisfied. It was either tasteless or off putting. My tea was turning rotten as well. Asked for fresh tea and was told they're out. Service was friendly. I'm not sure if it was just a really bad day for them, but we will not be returning.

This is a great place for breakfast! The food is delicious. All homemade and the bacon wow. The service is slow, but it’s a small restaurant at a small little town and I’m not holding that against them.
Had breakfast, eggs bacon, refried beans, potatoes and the carne guisada was great with homemade flour tortillas. Staff was very friendly. Will come back whenever I'm in town camping out.

Live Roaches! We spotted 5 Roaches, of course this was after our food was served. The restaurant is not very clean. The restroom is bad. it feels like the wall was eaten up with termites, Larva flies were dead behind the toilet. The health department needs to shut this restaurant down until corrections are made.
