I have been coming here irregularly for years. Decided to bring some out of town friends, as well as my grandparents who are local.There’s always a wait, we were prepared for this of course. However, once we were in the waitress took our orders and was clearly in a rush. We proceeded to wait about an hour and a half for our steaks.They entirely forgot my grandfathers steak, he ended up eating off everyone else’s plates since we didn’t want to wait an hour more for another steak.Of five steaks ordered, all but one were horribly overcooked. This picture is a steak described as “medium” but I feel was better described as beef jerky.It is disappointing to see a place I was so fond of fall so far. I expect more for $30+ a steak.

While the main courses were undeniably superb, I must admit that the dessert selection left me wanting more. Although I didn't have the opportunity to sample the desserts during my visit, I've heard rave reviews from friends and colleagues who have had the pleasure of indulging. I have no doubt that the desserts at Leona General Store are just as delectable as the rest of the menu, and I can't wait to return to experience them for myself.In addition to the exceptional food, I must commend the ambiance and service at Leona General Store. The rustic yet charming atmosphere and attentive staff create the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.

Short story: went years back: loved it!!! Went this last weekend (Feb 2024) and absolutely hated the service and attitude *but still loved the food.Long story: Our family has been to the Leona General Store before to celebrate a birthday a few years back and we loved it!!! It was great and we would tell anyone who listened to go try it out. Well, we decided to go back to celebrate another birthday with roughly the same amount of people (two more than last time) and were treated completely different. Please let me clarify: we know we are a big group and we know we have to behave very well and not overwhelm staff and/or their assistant. We are very well versed on public outings and none of us have small children (they are all 12 and older). The owner asked how many we were and I informed her we were a group of twenty and she seemed shocked. She asked us to come in and sit in the a waiting area so she could decide were to seat us. Then she kept walking and assumed we knew were she was taking us. She hid us an a back corner and stated that the tables can not be moved and we would have to sit at the tables as they were. I was going to ask her if things had changed and she interrupted me so I asked her kindly to let me finish my question. I asked if they were not allowed to be moved because they were heavy or if it was a new rule put into place. She stated that they don't do that and that if I didn't like it I did not have to eat there. I swallowed my pride and sat down with everyone scattered across five different tables. When the waitress came she would not let us group our families and stated she would have to do it by table only. The party asked her to take the biggest table *with 8 people at it because the birthday boy was there and the waitress did the complete opposite. She was shaky at best when tending to us. She was very hesitant the entire time. The runner that brough out the steak were very combative about a size steaked ordered wrong and MADE someone at the table take the plate. However, there was a waitress with red hair(natural color) that stepped up and was awesome. She filled the drinks when need be, she cleared plates and she was very amicable. At the end of the evening I tried to give the first waitress a piece of cake and she swerved back like I was offering her poison. The waitress with the red hair was lovely and said thank and was such a different person than our initial waitress. We will not be returning, like I said we know we are a big group so we behave and tip well, this time we tipped very little to the initial waitress and much more to the second one. To wrap up the evening, as we left the owner had a scowl and did not seem to enjoy us at all.Parking: In the middle of nowhere but the food is worth the drive for tourist

Went there Feb 23, 2024 with my wife and another couple. Had one 10 oz steak and two 12 oz steaks and one grilled pork. 10 oz steak and grilled pork were fine; however, both 12 oz steaks were too tough to eat. We will have to make dog food out of them. Very disappointed.

I drove 2h for a steak and I'll do it again. The staff were personable and friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing and reminded me of when I lived in a small village. This is THE place to go for steak.

Great catfish and also shrimp dinners. Large portions. Reasonable prices with friendly waitresses.

Steak was amazing. Got the 12 oz ribeye medium rare. And this is more on the rare side. The waitress did warn us it would come like that. BYOB. Forgot to check if there was a corking fee. They did provide us with a corkscrew for our wine and plastic cups. Salad bar is nothing special. But you're here for the steak. Showed up at 5:30 and only waited about an hour. People in like are friendly.

Definitely a good steak. Worth the trip. Glad they got us in quickly. There appeared to be a long wait. But the wait was for bigger parties. We were just a party of 2. This is what our waitress told us. But I rarely wait more than 20 or 30 minutes to eat.
