My family and I visited this restaurant for the first time based on its positive reviews. Unfortunately, it seems they may have experienced an off day during our visit.

Upon arrival, we were seated and had to keep our coats on due to the lack of heating. Despite the discomfort, we chose to stay as we were already there and hungry. The food was overly salty, and the most disappointing part of the experience occurred during payment.

I was directed to the cash register where the waitress informed me of the total amount, but did not provide a printed receipt. I paid the bill and included an 18% tip, only to later discover that a 20% gratuity had already been automatically added to the bill. This resulted in a total of $85 for two sancochos, a small order of tequeños, a beer, and a soda.

I believe that if a gratuity is being included, it should be clearly communicated to customers beforehand. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I am unable to recommend this restaurant.

I visited Hello Caribbean restaurant with my family to celebrate my father's birthday, drawn in by his desire for seafood and the positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience fell very short of expectations.

Upon entering, we were greeted by an uncomfortably cold atmosphere, as the heater was off despite the 26°F weather outside. However, we decided to stay due to our hunger and the promising reviews. The cheese sticks served as a decent appetizer.

My parents chose tostones and sancocho for their meals. Unfortunately, they found the tostones to be less than fresh, tasting as if they had been refried multiple times. The sancocho was overwhelmingly salty, making it difficult to enjoy.

My grandmother and I ordered the salmon, which took an unusually long time to arrive. When it finally did, we were surprised by the small portion size. After the first bite, we discovered it was excessively salty, rendering it nearly inedible. It seemed as though an entire pound of salt had been used in its preparation. Given the $22 price tag, this was quite disappointing. We opted to switch to grilled chicken instead.

When it came time to settle the bill we each went up and paid and gave gratuity. However, we were surprised to find a 20% gratuity added without prior notice and didn't find out until reciew of the receipts. To complicate matters further, my grandma and I were each charged an additional $2 for changing our meals from literally inedible dishes.

I had hoped for a wonderful dining experience for my father's birthday, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. I would recommend the restaurant address these issues and be more transparent with their tipping policies to improve the overall dining experience for future customers.

Do not order seafood from them, the shrimp and calamari was very hard to eat. I’m not sure if it was undercooked or expired, don’t recommend. Only the fries were good on my order, very overpriced.

Was skeptical since it's inside of an apt complex but the food was amazing! Service was great. We tried a little bit of everything and can't wait to go back.

What an incredibly refreshing place to have in Texas! I am always looking for something other than TexMex and BBQ. The ceviche mix was so fresh and perfectly sized portion. The burger was amazing as well and so was the Caribbean Mule! I even snagged a few of the unique treats on my way out!

We went for dinner on a Monday, early evening. Only one table of 4 was ahead of us. One or two to go orders were picked up while we waited, so no the kitchen was not backed up. We ordered 2 items and an app. It took close to an hour to get our food.

The yucca fries came dry. We had to ask for a dipping sauce or ketchup.

None of our dishes came out hot, which is what you expect when your food takes so long. It was all just warm, which makes me wonder if it just sat there and died at the expo window.

At about the hour mark, the last dish came out (over ten minutes after the first dishes came) was the caesar salad, which makes no sense why that took so long. It’s salad and prepared chicken And it came out with bacon. Not sure that was in the description, but pretty sure we would have requested no bacon, as we don’t eat pork.

And the dressing with the caesar salad? Honey mustard, with bits of bacon in it. The guy offered to go back and take off the bacon and when we requested that a new one be made because we didn’t eat pork for religious reasons, he stared at us blankly, and then said well it’ll take awhile to make a new one.

We had waited so long for our food that we just opted to get a refund for the salad.

What we tasted was good, and I imagine would have been better hot, but not good enough to salvage the totality of the experience.

The food was very good. Real Venezuelan food. In observance of the Copa America soccer tournament, the owner gave to our kids a soccer ball as a gift. Very good experience overall.

Lea, I give the empanadas a 0, they have a lot of dough, little filling, and the flavor of the dough is insipid. It doesn't have that sweet touch peculiar to a Venezuelan empenada, the rest of the sauces are excellent I give it a 10, the tostones with cheese are very good, if they improve the empanadas it would be a great change.

The food is good, it's just that coincidentally when my friend and I go and order a drink they never have it. But when the lady is there there is always ?
