Been coming here since I was a kid. I now live in California but visit Texas every few months. I think about this place on the flight. We have a lot of good food in Cali but no good BBQ that isn’t absolutely botched.
I recommend the 3 meat plate if you have a big appetite. Second favorite is the Big Tex sandwich.
Keep up the good food yall

Im upset whith this place, i was a regular costumer, i think they always have overcharged me, 18 for one brisket sandwich n two sides no drink, their excuse is that i request no fat on the meat, i never had a problem paying cause the food is kind of good but this las time they charge me like 22 for the same, they said i put way to much food on my plate, (the sides im talking about) i do put i little extra on my plate, one because i feel they charge me enough, second because they don't have a sign saying that if you put to much food in your plate u would be charge extra, i was regular costumer n lots of times restaurants trow away food at the end of the day, i felt like it wasn't fair but it is what it is, no going back

The meat is cooked perfectly 👌. Potato salad needs seasoning. All in all I would go back

Good old famous BBQ where you walk with your tray like a cafeteria style. My mom and i get the 3 meat platter and share it with 2 sides and 2 rolls. Free icecream machine too.

A roadside gem!
For starters, they have 3 different types of BBQ sauce that they keep in warmers! What a small - yet significant - attention to detail that actually DOES impact the BBQ experience.
Brisket could have been a bit juicer, but we assume it had to do with the time of day and section of cut we got.
Mac n cheese was ultra creamy. The smokey beans were far superior to the jalapeno beans.
The bread roll (which most assume is an afterthought) was actually the STAR of our meal, imo.
FREE soft serve ice cream cone with every purchase!

It's good! The prices are a bit expensive $25.99/lbs but still way cheaper than Hard8 BBQ at $34/lbs. We got two 2-meat family packs including 2 sides for $150. It fed 6 people. The meat was jucy, not fatty (I hate dry meat) with mexican style frijoles and corn (corn wasn't good: mushy -sitting too long in water) and over all -Not bad. I'd go again.

Restaurantji Recommends
Absolutely love their BBQ. My hubby orders extra lean, sliced brisket. I order chopped brisket, or sliced turkey, depending of which culinary delight I want to dine on. Today, we added two BBQ ribs, to our “to go” order, because reviews had been positive. Oh my, they were “fall off the bone” delicious! I really like their slaw & I often get the potato salad, too. I will say that the potato salad is apparently made with dill pickles, good & creamy, but I prefer sweeter potato salad. Me & my hubby enjoy the buffet style veggies & salads at this Old House BBQ. I occasionally get green beans or broccoli/cauliflower salad. The interior is rustic & a tad too dark, but always very clean. Highly recommend!

Went there to introduce my 6-year old son to BBQ.
Price was higher than expected.. there was an additional fee if you pay with a c/card, and the food was just okay. :(
We had the ribs, jalapeño sausage, corn on the cob, and peaches.
My son only ate the corn on the cobb and the peaches..
Over all disappointing .
Service was good…

First time here. Ordered take out for late dinner. Arrived 20-30 mins before closing time and honestly, I was expecting employees to be pulling up pans on the line and such and being annoyed I ordered take out so late in the day. That was not the case. Restaurant was empty, but spotless when I walked in (almost closing time). Employee was standing behind a fully stocked line like it was the start of the day and he was ready to serve. I'm not going to lie. Working in the restaurant industry, I was pleasantly surprised. The food, as someone mentioned in another recent comment, was so worth what we paid - in portion, packaging and taste. So happy I made a game time decision to order from here. Give it a whirl if you haven't yet. (Ordered the Family Pack, Regular Pack - 2 lbs of meat, 3 sides and rolls - value at the cost paid!)
