Lewisville BBQ – Soulman’s

The food was great! We would definitely stop here again!

I needed to use ApplePay on my phone (because I didn’t have my wallet). So, I went to the register and paid first, for a 4” round BBQ sandwich.

The 1st employee forgets to tell the line workers to make the sandwich. So, I’m standing there forever waiting for my food.

I ask about my sandwich. They say, “What did you order?” I say never mind just give me a refund.

The 2nd employee goes to the cash register and stands there forever because he can’t figure out how to issue the refund (this isn’t my criticism of him). Then the 1st employee brings the sandwich to the register, tells me it’s free and apologizes for the trouble (a nice gesture that would have helped soothe the situation).

The 2nd employee grabs the sandwich and throws it in the trash behind him, and says, “No! I’ll give a refund”.

I had already been standing there an inordinate amount of time when he threw the sandwich in the trash, and he still has yet to process the refund. I tell them, “Just keep it!” and left.

Congratulations! You earned this review. P.S. They still haven’t issued the $8.65 refund (not that I care).

Will start with the positive .
The employees are very nice and the banana pudding is great.

Meat is completely dry and lacking flavor.

Mac and cheese is super mushy and almost flavorless.

The sweet tea ... well ... its tea, but not sweet.

Save your money and just get the pudding.

Good food but barely gave me any fries. Pretty disappointed in that regard

Ordered takeout. Poorly packaged, small portions & forgot sauce & side. Total waste of $50.

Can’t even tell you how much I love this soulman’s location! Not only is the bbq fantastic, but the staff is just amazing. My husband and I come in at least 2-3 times a week to grab some turkey and French fries.

Every single time we come inside, it feels like we are coming over to families house. Everyone greets us, asks us how we are, and makes us feel like more than just another customer.

Now to the food - the turkey…. INSANE, the French fries… never had better in my life. We’ve tried lots of food from there and it’s all been incredible.. we just eat pretty lean so turkey on the go is easy and delicious. Other recommendations I’d say is the ribs, hot links, and spicy potatoes and baked potatoes. Like I said though, everything is delicious!!

I just love every staff member there and how much they take care of their customers! A true blessing and a lost art in most places!

The Guys at Wautaga Automotive, had a treat , thanks Soulmans.

A coworker and I went there while on a business trip Sept 2025 and what an amazing meal it was. I had the ribs and chicken with hotlinks. Ribs and chicken fell off the bone and had an amazing rub on them. I didn’t even use bbq sauce. The rub was really perfect. Hotlinks were great, green beans and ranch beans were also great. Service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back.

Very easily the worst brisket I've ever had. Hardly a hint of smoke flavor, it most resembled bland roast beef. We had buns with the order which were badly stale. Straight in the trash, didn't even attempt to eat them. The BBQ sauce is good, thankfully, because I had to drown everything in it to make the food edible.

Richard was absolutely amazing friendly and very helpful. Put up with my family ordering their food and really made sure the experience was smooth and flawless. By far some of the best service I've had at this soulman's but also some of the best I've had in a long time.

Should allow tips to be entered with cards!!! They deserve it.

General Manager of this place is awesome, personable and always makes a point to come by and say hello. You can tell by his smile and greeting that he remembers you from the last time. The food is outstanding. Really enjoyed meeting a couple of new team members KB and Shane.

Went to the Lewisville location. Food was great and service was spectacular. We didn’t know what we wanted exactly and was taken in the right direction: brisket, ribs, pulled pork and the manager gave us a generous taster of the sausages. I am not always a pulled pork person, but I really liked it….why I am mentioning it. The other meats were delicious. Plus, as told by the manager, the sausage had a good spice but will hit you at the end, TRUE, and good. We ordered cole slaw, green beans, baked potato, and the fried cabbage. Yummy!
