Absolutely love the menu, the staff, and the ownership of this business! Everyone I speak with is open to conversation, all the way up to the owners!! Highly recommend giving the best BBQ in town a try!!! ?
Nice Clean establishment, food came out quickly, delicious meats and sides
We live in Little Elm and there’s so much hype about this place so we decided to give a try today. It’s Sunday and place was surprisingly almost empty. We ordered the El Patron thinking it can feed a family of 4 for $125 plus burnt ends and ended up spending $185 including the tip (I don’t know why I paid for the tip and we’re not even eating in.) Went home with our food, the meats were lukewarm as I cradled the foil containing the meats in the front seat. Disappointed to find out that ALMOST ALL the portions are SMALL!!! From the sides with the small containers that were halfway filled and the fries that’s good for one to two people only. It felt like we were just taste-tasting food. The briskets are okay, the pulled pork - a little on the dry side and lacking barbecue sauce, the sausage (don’t bother - go to a Polish store for a good kielbasa), but the burnt ends are very good. The tacos are good but half of my family is not a fan. We are not returning. It’s up to you to try it at least and get a satisfaction to stay with your favorite barbecue joint.
The bartender Josh was an amazing host and great to talk to. We were told to order a Milanese taco which isn't on the menu. When we got there, they had no idea what I was talking about so I ordered the brisket birria taco which was good. Disappointing not to get the other one. We had the ribs (a little dry), Texas twinkies (supposed to have brisket but couldn't tell), brisket (a little dry), and bacon burnt ends (amazing flavor but largely on the fatty side).
Hurtado barbecue was kind of a let down when I was wanting some good Texas barbecue. The service was pretty good but communication between staff could be better. I was asked what I wanted to order after I had already ordered. Not a big deal but, figure out a process. After ordering and paying, you're given a number and are left to seat yourself. The wait for the food seemed a bit long even though they have the food right there in front of you when you order. I ordered the smoked sausage, brisket, and ribs. The meats had decent flavor but were a bit overcooked. The potato salad was nothing to write home about but the beans were good. I didn't stay and eat because the flies were annoying and the noise from diners was a bit much. I don't think I would return here if given the opportunity when there are much better choices available.
I’m a long-time customer of the Arlington location and the second Hurtado maintains that same high level of quality. My friend was a first timer, so he got the meat tray and was blown away.I figured I’d try something new and went with the nachos. A decision I now regret. It has ruined all other nachos for me forever because no other nachos will never be that good again. I’m glad I tried them. You can’t go wrong. Everything on the menu is pretty dang tasty.
The service in this place is great, they really know how to treat customers, The manager Matt made us feel right at home he was super cool and staff equally nice and attentive. The food was amazing, these guys really know BBQ. The brisket was A1 and ribs are amazing. Usually I’m not too crazy about turkey but this was the most tender and juicy turkey I’ve had in BBQ place.Overall great experience, I definitely recommend it.
Nice helpful staff. Clean, good ambiance. Food is not great. 3/5 for me
I had been to the location in Arlington before and recently heard that they opened a new location in Frisco. The location in Frisco is larger than the location in Arlington. The building looks nice from the outside. They have a large bbq grill in display at the front door. There was not a wait in line and we quickly placed our orders. We received a lot of helpful information about the food on the menu which helped to decide what we wanted to eat. We found a booth and while waiting for our food to be delivered we saw that the beautiful mural in the restaurant was still be worked on by the artist. Kara the artist did a fantastic job on the artwork in the restaurant. After about 10 minutes or so, our food was delivered- birria tacos, ribs, brisket, grits, tater tot casserole, and Mexican corn. Everything was delicious! The food was hot, fresh, & made to order. My favorites were the ribs and grits...omg...so creamy, buttery, & yummy! It's no wonder they're a top 50 BBQ spot in Texas!
We usually go to the Arlington location but decided to try the new location in Little Elm. The food was amazing as usual! I would also like to say that even though I have never met the owners, they are such nice people. I am a kindergarten teacher and they purchased items from my Amazon Teacher Wishlist. Thank you for caring about the community! ????

Great restaurant, amazing food, and friendly staff.
Great staff, great food and super value on price for BBQ! They even have the good bourbon at the bar!
We came for a late lunch on Thursday around 2:45. No line at all. The staff were super friendly, helpful and patient. We got the Patron platter with pulled pork, sausage, birria tacos, brisket plus turkey and pork ribs. All the meats were top notch. The seasonings were just perfect. All had an excellent clean smoke flavor. Brisket is the best I’ve had. Pulled pork top notch. I liked the tacos. I wish I could do ribs like that, juicy and the sauce was perfect. Without doubt, the best smoked turkey breast I’ve ever had! Standout sides were hatch chili Mac n cheese and tater tot casserole. I will definitely be back!
Food was great! I had brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage and turkey and I really enjoyed it all. BBQ sauce was also excellent. Line was long, as expected, for Friday lunch but the service and hospitality was stellar. Very happy this place opened up just down the road from me! Can’t wait to return to try some of the stand out options…like banana pudding, brisket nachos or the hatch green chili Mac and cheese!!
Great BBQ! May want to arrive early (especially on busy days), they may run out of items by the end of the day! I got there too late to try the burnt ends. Ended up having El Jefe plate with Mexican Sweet Corn and Macaroni! The sides were amazing, would recommend! Looked like they have a full service bar and outdoor seating (as well as indoor seating)!Would recommend if you are in the area!
