Going here for 60 years, because there's just none better. I'm a Texas ex-pat, grew up north of Llano but still think Cooper's is worth a plane ride home every year during bluebonnet season.

2025-01-00 - had the chicken and it was so good. I’m not a huge bbq fan but the chicken was so moist and flavorful. The blackberry cobbler is absolutely fantastic as is the mac and cheese.

love this true iconic famous BBQ place. Everything jucy and melts on your mouth and tastes home made BBQ pit flavored. seasoned just right. I Highly Highly recommend Coopers Old Time BBQ. im.a true Texas BBQ enthusiasts who's families been here since 1820s and fought and died alongside the men in the Alamo and Goliad and San Jacinto to keep us a free republic state . This place is Texas

Have been a long time patron of Coopers in Llano, probably close to 15 years, was always a "go to" stopped when I was in the area however today for lunch everything was off unfortunately. Order brisket, prime rib, sausage, and beef rib. Almost every item was way overcooked and way over salted. Not sure what may have changed, but have not been here for over a year and a half. Was a very disappointing and "low to mid" $65 meal.

🤬The ad for this restaurant states that this BBQ restaurant is family owned and ran. We visited this restaurant as a group on March ,8, 2024. One of the employees or possible owners of this restaurant treated one of my family members with hostility over a cheap bottle opener. We were accused of stealing one of those cheap bottle opener’s that you would find at a Walmart for less than a dollar. Our bill was $338.00 dollars. Yet , we were treated like thieves as we exited this establishment. By the way, that cheap bottle opener was left on the table where we were seated at!!!

There was a time (1990’s-2000’s)when I would drive to Llano just to eat at Cooper’s. Thought we’d give it another go after avoiding it the last few years due to a bad experience. But the fact is Cooper’s just isn’t what it used to be. There’s no effort in truly offering a Fine Texas BBQ Experience. The current management running the restaurant appears to have opted for expedience at the cost of quality. The meat does not appear to actually be smoked anymore. (No wood in sight). They just pull it from heating cabinets and throw it on the pit and let customers think it’s traditional bbq. Chicken and turkey looked anemic/pale, no smoked flavor. Pinto beans were lukewarm. Young man behind the counter offered to slice meat but just cut it in chunks. I don’t think he knew how to slice it. Restrooms were a bit dirty. I read some of the more positive reviews. Just don’t see it. Disappointing overall.
