Friendly faces and amazing food; our experience at the Barrel House was amazing! The food was very well seasoned with big portions meaning I was able to enjoy it the next day. We had the Fiesta burger, chicken fried steak and chicken chorizo gumbo. We didn’t have a long wait for food at all and each dish was super tasty! The service was great, we never had an empty cup on our table. Since we were visiting on the way to a campsite with hiking, our server told us some little tips about the best hiking spots. Before we left, since it was quiet, one of the chefs came out to say hello. Very friendly indeed, we had a lovely conversation that left us with a smile! We will definitely be visiting again!

Tried this place out on a whim. Very glad we did. Family of 7, on a busy Saturday night and they had no problem accommodating us. Everything was wonderful and decently portioned. We'll definitely be back.

If you have read my reviews, you will know 5 stars are reserved for the very best. Passing through town when my wife chose this place for lunch and wow, just wow. Staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Establishment was clean, with an inviting atmosphere and well planned out. The food was perfect. We had a smash burger, seasonal Greek salad, kids grilled cheese, and kids Mac and cheese. All of which were loved. My wife, a restaurant owner, can be quite critical of food, service, and drinks and said the food was amazing, and the mimosa was the best shes ever had. Chef Kat and our server Shanna left no detail untouched. We will be driving back from Austin just to go here. Highly recommend it. Great job!

Wow! Just wow! Our server, Shanna, was so sweet, attentive and fun. Chef Kat visited several times to check. We had yummy boudin balls for app. The best Mimosa I've ever had at a restaurant. Kids loved their mac n cheese and grilled cheese. 😋 I had the seasonal Greek. Hubby had the smash burger. Every single thing was top notch! Gem of a restaurant with small town beauty. Can't wait to come back.

The pulled pork had good flavor but wasn't good enough to make up for the grease that poured out of the sandwich and made the bun so soggy. The pasta had absolutely no flavor. The queso was actually good!
Also the waitress slinging her dreads all over ppl and pulling up her very dirty sock inside of her croc then not washing her hands, was def not appetizing.

Just stopped here on our way home to San Angelo. Chicken tenders were the best I have had, marinaded in pickle juice! The rest of us had smash burgers and they did not disappoint. Ordered the Muy Caliente margarita, a little over spicy but added a splash of my daughter's orange juice and it was perfect!
We will be back for sure!

We came here on Black Friday evening after 12.5 miles of hiking in the area, and we saw that the establishment had a great Google Maps rating. We were not disappointed. We had the Boudin balls for an appetizer and the Cobb salad and Da Bomb salad for entrees. Both were excellent. We will definitely come back next time we’re in the area.

We've never been disappointed by the food. Very good food at reasonable prices. Service was great and the atmosphere was inviting. Oh, and the beer prices were reasonable, although both beers that my wife had, the glass was not full to the top like mine. Not a big deal.
