Wow. What a great destination! Alexandra is the master distiller who is very passionate and informative. After about an hour of learning the process we sampled eight varieties all made in the Austrian tradition. Fruit brandy made from apples, pears, and cherries...in clear and oak reserve varities. Make an appointment and be prepared to be amazed. Aromatic and Smooth with only three ingredients.

What an incredible rare gem right here in Central Texas! The owners are so nice and hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed hearing all about how this place came to be and the story of Edelbrand. And of course, we enjoyed the tasting, too! We bought several bottles. The location is beautiful and peaceful, with the occasional baa from the sweet sheep. I highly recommend AFDT for a unique outing and experience. My husband and I went by ourselves but it would be especially fun with a small group of friends!

We stopped but they were closed but they came out talked us anyway so very kind. The next day we called and made an appointment with them spent 3 hours learing and tasting some of the best Brandy Schnaps Cherry, Apple, Pear we have ever had a must stop!!!!!

I live in Luling and finally decided to come here with my parents. KC took us for a tour and was very knowledgeable about the edelbrand distilling process. We got to meet Alexandra, who is the master distiller. The brandy is amazing and smooth, my favorite is the clear cherry, and the cream royale, which is similar to an eggnog (but better!)It’s absolutely worth the trip, they’re both so welcoming and friendly and make a fantastic brandy.

Our private tour and tasting with friends was a wonderful experience learning about the Edelbrand Brandies produced by AFT distillery and tasting the delicious products they distill. Alexandra was a delight as she explained their history and distilling process and led us thru the tastings. A beautiful location hidden in the hills near Luling and a must for a future return to taste some of their cocktails made with their products. And don't forget the Cream Royale! A unique experience in Texas! This is proper Schnapps, think Brandy or even Scotch not peppermint. The owners will greet you personally and give a great tour and of course afterwards the good stuff comes out. Beautiful inside and outside seating area, great for hanging out on a beautiful day. Do yourself a favor and check this out!

I was made aware of this distillery by word of mouth. It is run by very friendly people who are passionate about their craft. I highly recommend that you drop by and try it for yourself.
Got a tour, boxes and boxes of Apples stacked to the ceiling, as they were making Apple Brandy the day I visited. Friendly owners excited about their new adventure. Saw Cherries fermenting and found about a December release date, so I will return for that batch. It took long enough for this county to let us actually vote on liquor, and now we have our first (legal) distillery in our county. It's about time.
