Owners were great ver nice but the Q experience was lacking. The ribs were extremely dry and a little over salted. Brisket was pretty good but lacked smoke. Sausage mediocre. The pinto beans didn’t have any flavor. I think they were just poured into the heater out of a can which is fine if you want to take a shortcut but at least add some onions, jalapeños and seasoning

Brisket was moist, perfectly done, nice looking bark, but I did not notice much of the seasoning. If the smoke flavor is what you are after, then great, but it lacked salt and pepper to me. I do my own brisket and don't go heavy for the kids, but this was bland. Same with sausages. Ribs tasted the best as well as all sides. Chicken 4/5, sausage 3/5 (also notch much seasoning).

I will rather spend more at Blacks next time.

After being in Houston almost 10 years and eating at the Luling City Market off Richmond I was shocked to learn that neither it OR the city market across the street from this location have anything to do with this establishment OTHER than the fact that they are both a knockoff of the Original Luling BBQ right down to the sauce. Food and service are BOTH better than the other two and I won’t waste any time going to the City Market in Luling after going here.

Ps they actually use mesquite To cook and you can taste the difference. And the sausage is 100% pork not that mixed meat they sell across the street with store bought sides.

We were traveling to Austin, coming from Starship launch in South Padre Island, and was hungry. We were on the back roads going thru small towns that only offered local dinners. We stopped at Luling BBQ in a small town of Luling TX. It was right off the HW and hour from Austin. It was in a red building. When you walk in you order at the counter. They cut your meat in front of you, there were several side items and pie. They did have indoor and outdoor seating . The staff wasn’t that friendly, but went after rush hour, so he could have been tired. My husband had the brisket sliced sandwich, it was very big with an onion slice and pickles. He enjoyed it. I ordered the ribs and brisket plate with beans and Mac and cheese, it was also very good. I had a piece of pie but they didn’t make pie, it was ok, I would recommend this restaurant.
