I went to school in Lumberton. Graduated '07, 17 years ago. The Southern Maid was around when I was a little boy. Loved that place. I did a little reminiscing the other day & brought my boys by. Southern Maid & Dipitys were staples in my childhood. Used to be the best donuts & burgers around.

Okay what happened to Southern maids in Lumberton on 96 I mean I walked in it smelled disgusting the people were rude and the original people are gone only thing I can think of is that they sold out and now Southern maid is Chinese made not southern Texas hospitality by all means will never go back to that place...

My mom said she used to eat southern maid back in the day before they left Houston. So we had to stop before our camping trip was over. Well... She got the ham and cheese croissant and she said it wasn't worth the nearly $4 price tag. She said they used to make it with chopped or minced ham and used a lot more cheese. Got a dozen glazed donuts and they were good and fresh.
