Really wanted to like this place given the generally good reviews but unfortunately it was not a good experience. The woman working was friendly but looked like she was fighting for her life taking orders and waiting tables, chips tasted old, rice was mushy, beans tasted canned and enchilada sauce was reminiscent of sauce straight out of a red gravy packet like my grandma would get at a dollar store to cook. Salsa was good though and the woman did not charge my boyfriend for his plate because he didn’t eat it so that was nice. Unfortunately, would not recommend this place.

Had a poor experience at Angel’s tonight, even though we were excited to eat there. The service was very slow and inattentive, and the food came out very late.

When it arrived, the food left a lot to be desired. I love mexican food and have eaten it my entire life in texas — so I was surprised at the quality given the high ratings.

The fajita beef was totally dry and the rice was significantly over salted. The enchiladas were the best part, but even they weren’t better than Rosa’s Tortilla Factory.

All in all, I wouldn’t go back — too many better options.

Fantastic food. Had chili relleno, rice and refried beans. Quantity and quality was everything one could wish for. Angel and ML her husband were fantastic hosts. If you are anywhere near Marfa, Texas, you must stop and eat at Angel's.

We loved the Machaca and the hospitality of owner Daniel Silva….definitely worth the stop when passing thru Marfa!

Small but don't let that fool ya! I got the smothered chicken burrito, Christmas style, with red and green sauces. Great taste. Loved the seasoned rice! Prices a little higher but larger portions so no complaints. Will definitely be back.

We've been super excited to try this place the next time we came to Marfa. We waited a very long time and was ignored the whole time. A couple other folks experienced the same thing and left like we did. What a same.

For me, this is one of the best restaurants in Marfa. Small restaurant and very rustic furnishings, but it has flair and the food was extremely tasty. The price is actually quite reasonable for Marfa. Soft drinks around 2 dollars and a burrito plate 13 dollars. Chips beforehand were free.
