I am not a cheap person at all but it truly shocked me when “David” I believe his name was charged me $13 for a shot of Tito’s and a splash of cranberry…my fault probably I should’ve been more cautious going to a new place while traveling and the price wasn’t noted so I should’ve asked but in my opinion the place is more for the locals

Planetary fun! Planet Marfa is everything a local spot should be. Full of Marfa characters, lively music, really good pizza & drinks , crazy fun ambience. Reminds me of the great Austin beer garden of days gone by. This is a rare gem. A must for any visit to Marfa.

Such an amazing atmosphere. My husband sat on the porch and watched the rain. So much to look at.

We always stop here each time we visit the area. It's a very cool outdoor bar with plenty of shade and a full bar. Drinks are always great. They offer food, we just haven't ordered yet, but it looks good.

My parents live in Marfa and Planet is always a for sure stop. There is normally unique clientele which makes for an interesting evening. I definitely recommend stopping in for affordable drinks and a great time.

This place makes me feel like I'm back at Burning Man, with it's open desert air, and unexpected structures and experiences. I once sat here, had a beer, and heard three different languages being spoken all at once. Another time, surprise karaoke happened. This is a dog friendly place, and there are even hitching posts that can help facilitate that if you're not one to go offleash, or you can put your backpack there. I've only had food here once, but the man in the kitchen had the glow of someone who had found their calling in life, and perhaps he had, because the soup he'd come up with to pair with the sandwich was off the charts. I don't know if that's a typical experience there, or if I was just lucky. I like this place a lot.

Could probably be a fun place. It's quirky, but Sunday afternoon it was completely dead and my bourbon was served in a dirty glass. I still drank it, I wasn't wasting that bulleit rye. Probably not our thing, but the food menu looked really good. And they were playing good alternative music.

Based on other reviews we thought this would be a cute pit stop for the kids on Friday evening. NO. VERY unwelcoming vibe.
A sign said to order food at the bar so I went up but was ignored. Figured I was on the wrong side and my 8 year old really had to pee, so I left it to my husband. He asked a woman if they had soft drinks and she just stared at him, then pushed a menu at him. Soft drinks weren't listed so he had to ask again. Wut.
Meanwhile I had to protect my son from all the mosquitoes in the women's bathroom, then went back out to the car to douse myself in OFF! so I could also go.
When I emerged I saw my husband and kids sitting alone at a table looking uncomfortable, so we just left. It was SO weird, not at all as described in the reviews. There were barely any people there, and a band was arriving to set up, so I didn't imagine we could be a burden.
Perhaps we didn't fit the hipster vibe: yes I had on designer sunglasses/handbag, but we're chill and were all wearing casual road-trip clothes!
It was evident 90% of the few patrons, employees and arriving musicians were white, so we figured perhaps there's an unwritten rule we were violating and that's why we weren't welcome? Message received: we won't be back! Drove up the road to Spicewood in Alpine instead. 🤷‍♀️
