Let me tell you, I could not express how great everyone was, how relatable and kind. The food was fantastic! Tried to get me to try alligator sausage....I had to decline his tempting offer... Went there for dinner and then breakfast the next morning. ( Kinda like going home...) Will definitely go back should our travels lead us down that road again. You should try them. Kindest folk you'll ever meet!!
Kid-friendliness: You can be right as rain taking in your kids....great atmosphere.
People that are employed here are very friendly and take time to talk and visit with you. Have been several times and haven't been disappointed anytime I have been there.

We could smell the woodsmoke even before we stopped and are very glad we did stop. The brisket was so divine we ordered another pound to take with us. The pulled pork sandwich didn't even need sauce as the meat was so delicious on its own. Staff was friendly and personable and made sure we were taken care of. Can't recommend highly enough.
Visited for the first time today! WOW!!! I loved the place and the owners!! Very, very nice…just wonderful country folk!! I’d rather eat at places like this all day over chain restaurants! It’s a small roadside cafe that will “fill her up” with all their good eats!! I LOVED watching the Ol’timers chat and drink coffee about the day-to-day things! We CAN’T wait to come enjoy lunch, BBQ, and fish!! Breakfast was DELISH!!!! Marshall, TX is LUCKY to have you…till next visit❤️

Looking for a non-chain option for lunch on a road trip, found this place while using Google navigation. Was not disappointed. Sign on the door shows BBQ on Tuesday and Wednesday...lucky me, it was Tuesday. Referred to it as candy/candied pork, smoked pulled pork that appears to be finished off with a sweet glaze. Had it on a sourdough bun with a side of fries which were served piping hot. A glass of sweet tea that was perfectly sweet for my taste, not crazy sweet where a spoon stands up in the syrup. Should mention that it was GOOD tea also. Tea gets an off taste when the urn isn't cleaned regularly and properly...this tea was spot on, so guessing they appreciate the importance of cleaning. Split a piece of buttermilk pie with my son. Great meal, friendly and attentive service. Will add to my favorites for future road trips in the area.
