Van's Brick Oven Pizza

12-07-2025-I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread. The garlic bread was the size for a three year-old. It was so small. I was so disappointed. I don’t expect the whole loaf but I did expect a good size especially for nine dollars. We also ordered a medium size Don from the menu which was $20 for a medium size pizza pretty pricey, considering that the flavor wasn’t all that so very disappointed but not a lot of options in Mathis Texas. I would drive to CalAllen before going back to Van’s..

Not sure what happened to this great little pizza place. Greeted by a very smoky restaurant. Minimal pepperoni on pizza. Only pickle chips available with sandwich. Servers did not come to table to ask if refills needed. Failed to turn in to go order when pizza brought out. Had to ask twice for a box. Slow when we arrived but was busy when we left. Very noisy.

Went to have pizza tonight... the bottom was cooked and top of crust was raw. It was terrible. We complained to server & she laughed. Only had couple topping, since it was smoky in the building we think the ovens are too high. We've dedcided not to return between the pizza & the crappy draft beer were done.

What a gem in the small town of Mathis! The street taco pizza is great, and so was the buffalo chicken. My kid loved the pepperoni as well. The Greek Salad was also to die for! The service was supurb and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Your hours are a bit aggressive, but other than that, it's perfect!

Too lazy to have a real web site. I can't stand it when local shops refuse to spend $50 per year to put up a basic web site with HOURS LOCATION MENU PRICES

SERIOUSLY, you can write off the cost of a web site on your taxes as a business expense. I want pizza. Could you just make a damned web site with these basics? I hate scrolling facebook in the hope someone else took a pic of your menu. That's your job. Not your customers' job.

I will never order some pizza from here again. I order pepperoni pizza from this place for the very first time. I drove 30 minutes to there to pick up my pizza and drive 30 mins back and turn to find out the pizza was so dried out and gross. My kids and fsmily didn’t wanna eat the pizza. I called to make a complaint and was told I’d receive a phone call but never did. This is ridiculous. Don’t waste your money

This place was a really nice stop on our way to South Padre from San Antonio. We ended up getting a large pizza, a salad, spaghetti w/ meatballs, and a keto friendly pizza. The food was very good. The place was a little bit smokey for some reason and the lights were flickering. The service was good. The prices were amazing for today's market. I will definitely return to this place.

We stopped here on the way from South Padre to Austin. We ordered a pizza and cheese sticks and they were great! It was a good place to stop for lunch with our almost 2 year old. The only downside was that the restaurant was pretty smoky inside from the oven and there was no changing table for the kiddo.

The pizza was delicious, service was fast, and the prices were great!
The posters on the wall are a plus!
The only negative feedback of the place is the ventilation system is not the best so it does get a bit smoky inside.
