Ribeye had a great mesquite flavor and big enough that I shared with my husband, but it was just warm. Baked potato was also lukewarm, and grilled shrimp was cold. This was a Wednesday night and only 12 tables occupied. Perhaps the waitresses and bus people could use teamwork to get the food out while it’s hot. Waited a long time, not sure I would visit on the weekend. Prices have increased since the posted prices, you think they would serve bread for that kind of money.

Service was a 6/10. We only saw our waiter for our drinks and food. Our brisket was dry, they seem to pre-slice their brisket. The barbecue sauce was alright but very strong. Definitely the worst place we’ve been to on our trip.

The bbq has always been too dry for my liking. Portions are HUGE. Ribeye & shrimp were pretty solid. It’s very dark inside. Saw several people using their flashlights to see the menu. Mesquite Pit is a Mineral Wells institution, and is good for the area. I will be back.

Great food on every visit, the staff is great! Stacee is probably one of the best servers I have had at any restaurant. Will definitely be back!
We ordered a chopped brisket meal and a two meat meal the meat was not warm, mashed potatoes were cold. It’s a horrible place to eat. It’s bad when the best part of the meal is the rolls.

5 of us stopped for a work lunch. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter, Gage, was top-notch. He was friendly, attentive, and funny. He made recommendations for our meal. I chose the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. The steak was tender, the breading seasoned well, and the cream gravy was what I expected with a CFS. Overall I was very pleased with the food. My table mates had mixed reactions on the sliced brisket. The ribs and smoked sausage were very much enjoyed. This is definitely a great place to stop for a wonderful meal.

Great comfort food, steaks, and BBQ. The fried bacon way out did our expectations of 3 or 4 pieces, it was 15 delicious pieces.
