We have eaten here several times. The food is average but not bad. Tonight we ordered two taco plates and a chicken quesadilla. We waited over an hour and decided to leave because it was 8pm and our 3 year old was tired and hungry. There were seven tables of customers and two of those were already done eating. They were not busy. When we were leaving I paid for our queso and two drinks. They didn't try to make things right or tell us our food was almost ready, very disappointing.

It's easy to just pass by Sabor a Mexico. Located at the intersection of Route 522 and 208 in Mineral, it's located in a very small shopping center. You either pass by on 208 or make a left turn onto 522. If you're passing through Mineral around lunch or dinner time, stop here! The food is delicious, freshly prepared, and a cut above your typical Mexican restaurant. We know that because we've eaten at plenty of them both in the U.S. and Mexico. My spouse ordered a beef tip quesadilla and I selected a steak burrito. Service was quick, efficient and the food came hot and quickly. This is a family-run restaurant and to me it appears they have put much hard work into customer care. We'll be back as we travel often on Route 522 to Richmond heading to and from Richmond, Va. This is our secret route to avoid the trials and tribulations of I-95. The best part: there's great food on the way!

Overall impressions of my party of 3 were not favorable. The service was good, but the food less desirable. I had the carne asada and was unable to eat it due to toughness. The beans and rice were good however. Wished the rating could have been better because I enjoyed the staff.
It is really good Mexican food! Great place to hang with friends, as they control the crowd, but it is a bit noisy.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at the front and tables easily seat wheelchairs.
