It's hard to find homemade food other than burgers and chicken fried steak in this area, Beneventi's offers something different. Everything was freshly made. Can't ask for more in rural Texas. Thank you Beneventi's!
The story behind this restaurant is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in its own right and how they help those with intellectual differences gain independence and learn a meaningful skill. The owner Jan Underwood graciously told of her story and the history along with a tour, including the tiny houses where the young people she helps live on their own. In addition, it's very good Italian food at a great price with very attentive service. Worth the 2 hour drive for us!
This is the BEST place to eat, it terms of price to quality ratio and overall value, in this "neck of the woods." The food and service were both exceptional. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dish. I cannot compare to any other italian place since I have never had italian food this good. Seriously! The quality is the food far exceeds the price. With tip, our meal for a party of 6 (2 kids split a pizza) came to $100. The last time we ate at an infamous italian chain, our bill was $150. I can drive the 70 miles to this place, enjoy a fine italian dinner, and still save money. Yes, the food, the service, and the atmosphere, are worth a 70 mile drive.
We enjoyed our dinning experience and it is a cute place with a great mission. We were there for a birthday dinner but it was never acknowledged. We tried a couple of apps. The brushetta, was excellent. The burndt ends... we'll let's just say I am used to burnt ends from KC. The ceasar salad was also excellent, with house made dressing. Yummy. Our buddies had Chicken Alfredo which they said they enjoyed. My husband had lasagne, which was good. I had the salmon with spinach. Not that good. Spinach didn't taste like fresh spinach and the salmon was over cooked. For us it was a fun experience with good friends but we probably won't plan another trip. Maybe lunch is their niche. We made reservations as they are recommended but we were the only folks dinning in on a Saturday night. I recommend this restaurant for the experience for sure. And, by the way they do serve wine and beer.
We love Beneventis. That night the ceiling fans were all on high and the AC was so cold that all 4 in our party literally froze. 2 in our party were sick with a cold 2 days later due to cold air blowing in their faces that night. The food was very nice.
The food was delicious! I had the lasagna and highly recommend it. It was quiet and quaint and the service was top notch. Shelby, our server, was an absolute delight. If you haven't been you MUST try this amazing Italian food hidden away in the small town of Mingus.
What a Wonderful Meal in a Great Setting. Service was very attentive and the Food was amazing. Thanks again for a wonderful Meal .Highly recommend dining . We were a late lunch and it was just perfect.
The restaurant is definitely trying. Good food maybe a 4 but cheap bread was a letdown. Salad fresh and good. Waiter inexperienced but pleasant. The usual staff problems for these days unfortunately.
I've been wanting to go to this special place for a while and it was worth the almost 1 hour drive to do so. The environment is quaint and used to be a family owned grocery store. Reservations recommended for peak times as the place only seats maybe 30-40 max at a time...maybe 10 total 4 tops. The food was authentic and delicious. We started with bruschetta which was fresh and yummy. My husband had the lasagna and I had fettucine alfredo. Both great. We then both had dessert, bread pudding and berry crumble. Yum! We really enjoyed that portion sizes were appropriate and we didn't leave feeling like we had overeaten. The check was also appropriate! We'll be back again! Side note, this establishment supports a job accelerator for people with intellectual disabilities. You can see the tiny homes in the back area of the restaurant where those participating reside while there. These young adults learn valuable job skills that can transfer to their communities in form of meaningful employment. Having a son with Down syndrome, this was a bonus for me!
Wow a jewel of a restaurant! A relaxing one hour country drive with some beautiful views before arriving at this adorable restaurant. The inside decor is vintage farmhouse. We loved it. The staff was super friendly and the food was good. We will absolutely be back. Worth the 1 hour drive from Ft Worth to support local, support a small business, support a business that hires people with developmental disabilities, and enjoy some good food at an affordable price. They have beer and wine on the menu too!

Eating Italian food in Mingus is an experience! the restaurant has a mission to help the developmentally disabled and provide a nice meal in a quiet rural atmosphere.all prices are moderate and the menu reflects the passion of the owners and the staff.
We returned to this Italian gem to spend a relaxing evening in Rome. It's rare these days when things come together as well as they did here...and for the second time in a row. We asked the server to course three shared dishes, and she did well keeping the courses from overlapping, but it did take some diligence. The buratta starter was nice with a few fresh tomato adornments. The pasta course was an amazing sausage and mushroom offering. We'll get this again. Finally, the seabass (which I find a risky choice at many places) was perfectly cooked with traditional surroundings of spinach and mashed potatoes. When they split this for us, the portions were so huge that I had to make sure they hadn't brought us two separate orders. The wine we had was nice throughout. In fact they have a rather good wine list, but surprisingly don't list the dates nor have anyone there for you to talk to about the wines. A little silly, really. But that nit doesn't take away from an exceptional experience.
Beneventi's restaurant was an amazing surprise. My wife and I moved to the Cool area in November last year, and this is the 1st restaurant we have been to in the area with table cloths and cloth napkins. Excellent.
What a gem in Minus! Who knew?? The restaurant is very cute and charming. The service was good as well. We had the gnocchi tots which were really yummy, the chicken picatta, the chicken murphy, shrimp alfredo and pasta with pink sauce. Everyone was happy!
This was easy to find, parking wasn't a problem. We had reservations because the website recommended reservations. We were seated quickly and had our beverages and appetizers soon after arriving. The food took a bit to prepare; it was great. We visited with the staff some and got some nice history of the family and the building. Enjoy!
