Came here for Kenyan Embassy DC ID/Passport event. The atmosphere is really great, thank you to Owner Laban Opande for hosting the embassy for Kenyans in diaspora to meet our ID/Passport needs. The restaurant/kitchen opened earlier than usual to offer breakfast for Kenyans who came for official business. Over all, a well coordinated, painless, actually joyful event. I'm truly grateful and will be back to Sugars. Thank you to embassy staff from DC and ?? and thank you volunteers for coordinating even as you needed services yourselves. Much Appreciated

When you're advertising a bourbon tasting, it's probably a good idea to have more than one bourbon to taste! My wife and I enjoy tastings of all kinds, but this was a first one selection tasting! I've had a lot of events there, and this place has consistently disappointed me in service and selection! But I will admit, the food is ok! Unless they are having a show at the place, I decline!

I would recommend this place for reasonably priced good drinks and live music.... but only if you live in or near that side of town and not hungry. I visited last Friday. Had to flag down a server after several minutes of no attention given to our reserved table of 3. Its a cajun restaurant but i tasted no cajun seasoning in the fried fish platter... definitely not worth $24. Their online menu needs updating because the options and prices are not the same in person. My drink was nice and boozy. The female entertainer was verrryyy good. The music soulchild sounding guy was a lil pitchy but maybe it was a mic issue.

Nice place to pregame. TVs everywhere to watch different games at once. Food menu was limited and the catfish platter only came with one filet on top of overly salted fries. My wife's chicken was also too salty. The bartender made some very tasty drinks for us! He was very attentive to our needs, however, there wasn't enough condiments. Our waiter mentioned the establishment was under new management. Updating the menu online would help future patrons not be displeased because of the missing or lack of items on the posted menu. I came for the boudin balls that I got to enjoy when Eric Roberson came to sing about 2 years ago.
When I first walked in the place it smelled like sewage. I should have turned around and left right then. But I was meeting some friends there for food and drinks so I stayed:We ordered our food and it was horrible. I ordered the Fried catfish with a crawfish etouffée sauce. Why when the food finally came it was a soggy piece of fish with a flavorless gravy on top that was supposed to be a crawfish etouffee sauce? But it had NO crawfish or vegetables. Huh?And the bathroom was clean but the overpowering smell of sewage made me want to throw up.I absolutely will not be going back.

A miserable experience! We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday here .. The service was poor, the servers had no urgency, I couldn't event tell if we had a designated server or not. Just had to flag people down when ready to order. Never got refills of water, had to go to the bar to get drink refills.We booked this dinner approx 6/7 days before and they had to go buy chicken AFTER our table made their orders. Literally telling us someone had to run to the store to buy more chicken. I ordered the catfish platter which included 1 piece of fish and 1 side for $25. It was a miserable place and management sucked. 0/10

The Dining Experience was awesome. The owner is a Lady Boss, Ms. Tonie was so nice and personable. The service was great. Darron was a great server, he was fun, attentive and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant. We had a wonderful brunch. The Gospel Brunch was so fun. Great Vibes.

This is truly a nice place But the food is terrible . I got lemon pepper wings ( discussing) I left them there after I ask to pack to go. Friendly service not enough wine picks . Live band which was supposed to start at 830 it was almost 10 when they started. Need new cook better organization. Bar was very clean.. will not

I found Sugar's to be 1 of the coolest spots of its type in Sugarland! The food was authentic and good, and the service was friendly and good as well. What sets Sugar's apart from other similar establishments is the atmoshere! The owner is amazing! She greets you personably as if she has known you for years, even on the first meeting! She follows up frequently to make sure "Are we (she and the staff) taking care of you, or is everything 'real' good?"
