There is so much negative things to say about this place from the service, to the dirty tables, to the cold shrimp... Don't waste your time going to this place. I forced myself to eat the shrimp because it cost $18 on a bed of hard rice. If you want food like this I suggest Boil City ... It's worth the drive.

Summary, poor service and food (food looks much better than it tastes)I went on a Saturday afternoon they looked to be fully staffed however the staff was still extremely flustered. I was the only one sitting at the bar and did not get greeted by a bartender for at least 20minutes. The bartender walked past me several times and did not speak. I eventually had to just get her attention from across the bar while she was still doing something else, just to ask for a drink menu. I ordered fried crab and stuffed wings.The fried crab were small with very little meat on them. I asked for a shell cracker and was told they would see if they had one. (even though they sell shelled seafood)The one they found was extremely rusted and I did not feel comfortable using it on my food, so I could't even finish eating. The stuffed wings were not well seasoned and smelled and tasted like they had been cooked in old or burnt grease. I couldn't finish those either.A woman who came after me tried to order a sidecar as there was a sign above the special drink menu that had a sidecar on it and the bartender said it was just for decoration and they do not make that (or she just did not know how.) The bartender also had seemed to look at the menu to remember what was in the tequila sunrise I ordered from the cocktail menu.The only upside was that the food was a decent price, but still would not go back and do not recommend this place.

Food was not good tasted like chemicals. Also food for table came at different times with huge gaps and was very cold when it arrived. Kids food was over cooked and tasted like old oil!!! Also pricing is off it should be two dollar signs $20-30 per person.

The food was horrible it did not taste like Louisiana creole Cajun food if your whole theme is Louisiana you have to cook like it i spent 150 dollars with my family and didn’t finish my plate and im not a picky eater my kids tenders came 45 minutes after my food and my sons we’re mad because they tasted burnt the food looks pretty but taste really bad I bought the big daiquiri for 26 dollars and it tasted like a slushy I didn’t even get a buzz I don’t think they put much alcohol in it

I came in for Sunday brunch. I had the mimosa flight with the peach chicken and waffles. The mimosa’s were freshly made and had a strong kick to them. The peach chicken and waffles were an A+; finger licking good. Lastly, the customer service was respectful and friendly. It’s a quaint spot but a nice black business to support.

We arrived before 7 went on the website to make reservations as listed on websiteSeated ourselves after no one acknowledged our being thereFinally got a waiter to come all to be told to move to the bar because the table was reserved,got to the bar and it wasn’t clean ?finally asked to be seated at a table etc etc etc……….food was fried to death

Dinning in was not good. First table not clean, waiter is the bartender trying him 30 minutes to get a drink. Look over at the bar area and on top of the trash can a lot of drinking glasses just setting there unclean . l don’t get a picture l wish l had. One employee seen me pointing at the unclean glasses and removed off 45 minutes. A/C blowing at 65 degrees every 10 minutes and cutting off. So when your food come this will help to cool your food off fast. So we get there at 7:12 and received own food at will about 8:20.chicken had old Grease smell to it. And ran out of stuff chicken.Fish fry very hard l was ok on just the shrimp and coke drink. Now the restroom water down soap come on and no paper towels and toilet seat falling off lol . I love black business but this place is off limits for me. Good music. Bring a jacket and prepare to wait.

The swamp and boudin chicken were really great! I wasn't very happy with the service.I ordered two of each wing and fries. It took no less than forty minutes. I was distracted watching a TV show on my cell, so when it finished, I went to the register to ask what happened. I believe she forgot my order or gave it away because two people who came in after me were served and gone. In their defense, it was a full house on a Friday at about 7 pm, and they were quite pleasant; not rude at all.I will go again, but next time, I'll call it in and confirm before I arrive.

We waited 1 hour and about 40 minutes. We never got our food. Then our server came back after about 1 hour and 30 minutes to ask us what we ordered. ?? I feel like they took us as a joke. People who came in after us got their food before us, although we all waited at least one hour for food. We waited for about 20 minutes before someone took our order. ?? heard the food was delicious, wish I couldn’t tried it.

After we ordered it took an hour to get our food. They were busy so didn't mind waiting.Never ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks. I never got my to go order I placed with my original order. They never wiped the tablet even though we asked several times. Rice was hard. I think the ratchet shrimp would have been great if rice wasn't hard. The seasoning was good. He had to get our silverware because it didn't come out with food. I have more but they were super busy.

Nice place of business. Service was awesome!! Greeted as soon as we opened the door. Requested to sit outside since it was a lovely day. Fries pickles not the best. They served my spouse before me. He had the 3 fried fish and shrimp. The fish was great. My plate came after he had finished eating. My sides were cold, the chicken fried chicken was hot but no brown gravy to go on top. I asked for a to-go so that I could take home and warm up to eat it hot and make my own brown gravy. Not sure if we will be back or not. But if so will order the swai fish.

WOW. Just WOW. Some fantastic local food with delicious cajun influence, this is some of the best tasting fried chicken I have had. We had the Wings, Stuffed Wings, and The Truth Sandwich (in addition red beans/rice, boudin balls, and fries). Everything was insane good, cooked fresh, and the wait wasnt long (esp for not phoning ahead).I went to visit the good brother Neil in Houston and after touching down from the flight I looked him dead in the eye and repeatedly said "FOOD" like Phillip Seymour Hoffman did in the movie Twister. I wanted some down home food that wasnt from a major chain and he didn't hesitate to drive straight to Swamp Chicken. When I travel I like to taste the local flavor... so GLAD we went here, it really kicked off my vacation in the right way.We destroyed it. Devoured it. Decimated it. All the destructive descriptive words that start with D can be used here. Go now!
