The food at Red River Cantina is probably some of the better Tex-Mex Restaurants in the area!Our wait 'to be seated' for dinner took less time than expected for our table of six. While waiting with a few other families at the front entrance, we noticed numerous empty tables and chairs. After being seated, I look around and see more empty sections. It looked like there were more than enough employees working, so why area certain areas of the restaurant empty? I felt like we were seated like sardines, scrunched together with other families trying to eat. The 6-foot rule obviously does NOT apply here.Our orders were taken and our food arrived in a timely manner. Plus, no one in our group complained about their meal. If you can take 6 people to eat at a restaurant and no one complains about their food, they deserve a recommendation. So, I recommend eating here at Red River Cantina.

Tried this place on the way home from Beaumont. The Monday special is pretty awesome. They take chicken fajitas and cover them in a white wine cilantro cream sauce while throwing in some scallops and shrimp. It’s served with all the fixings. Not bad at all.

First time trying this place today. Atmosphere and decor were pretty nice. Service was mediocre and while the food was hot and delicious it lacked the amount of meat you'd except you are paying for. I ordered the chicken Diablos plate with 6 jalapeños and 6 tiny pieces of chicken in the middle of each one. I'd have to guess they were less than half an ounce of meat in each jalapeño and paid $20 for that plate. Would have been better off ordering fajitas.

This was my 2nd time to eat at Red River and I LOVED it just as much as the first! I swear, the brisket enchiladas where made specifically for ME! They are my favorite! And the fajita steak nachos and chicken fajita quesadilla on the sampler are both amazing! The watermelon margarita was sooooo good and refreshing, and I don't even like margaritas! I have never had anything here that I didn't absolutely love. It is all so good. Today we had Carlos as our server and he was the best, super sweet and attentive. We will be asking for him specifically on our next visit!!

Salsa was bland to us.. tacos were greasy .. beans were good. The fajita meat inside the enchilada was OK.. not sure which was more boring the waiter or the rice. One no flavor.. he other no personality. We had the Laredo plate. At 17.. was about the cheapest plate on the menu.. probably won't return.. don't see what others see in it..Bathrooms are gorgeous... it's a pretty place.

Finally tried for the first time today after some hesitation. We were very pleased with our first experience. It was pretty busy, an our waitress was busy, but several managers were walkin around and kept checkin on us as well. Everyone was very friendly. Food was great. Even our son, who can be picky, loved everything an he can’t wait to come back. It was a pretty loud atmosphere though. When we were leaving, I’m not sure the chef or a manager gave us a piece of tres leches cake and Omg it was amazing! We will definetely be back!

Sooooo good!! I loved the green sauce, salsa and white queso... Absolutely the BEST guacamole I have ever had!!! The steak fajitas were sooooo juicy and a great flavor. I also had carnitas enchiladas that had a really good sour cream sauce on top. I was very impressed with this restaurant

Went ahead and gave this place a second try got food for my whole family and we're missing multiple items. To include tortillas, beans, rice, an entree, and salsa. Chicken fajitas are like a boiled piece of dry chicken cut into strips. Go to gringos this place is dog feces.
Well, we ordered two kids meal and they came ice cold and dry. Our server, BeBe came up to our table all smiles until we ordered two kids meals and water. The service was awful and full of attitude. She really gave us attitude when we asked for more water. Her glowing smile vanished and she couldn't wait to get rid of us. NOT everyone has a huge budget, NOT everyone can eat a mound of food! I will not be going back. As a retired senior couple we have cut down on our portions and how much we can spend when dining out. I am tired of how restaurants treat senior citizens. I hope you get your attitude adjusted BEBE, one day you too will be a senior citizen!

There are terrible reviews on this place, so I avoided it for a while. We decided to try it out for a business lunch and I was amazed. The quality of food is excellent, the service is on par and the atmosphere is nice. My guess is the bad reviews stem from when they first opened and were still finding their way.

The decor, ambiance, and staff are top notch but not their food. The chips are straight up trash. I swear they baked them in an air fryer. The salsa is pretty good but couldn't salvage these trash chips. The enchiladas Al carbon is the size of a kids enchiladas dinner and tasted subpar. This place is terrible and needs a complete overhaul. This place would thrive in North Dakota but not in Texas.

It's very unfortunate the level of customer service is affecting this new location. My wife and I had lunch and she ordered a skinny margarita, which was very good. We decided to order a to-go skinny margarita, which only comes in a half gallon size. That evening we shared our to-go skinny margarita with friends. It was definitely not the same drink we had at the restaurant. It tasted like pure lemon juice! It was so sour and there wasn't any alcohol in the drink. I understand things happen and was hopeful they would make things right. So upon returning to the restaurant I asked to speak with a manager at the hostess stand. A manager approached me and explained to her that the to-go margarita wasn't very good and could she fix it? She abruptly told me that had opened and consumed the majority of the margarita and there was nothing she could do. I explained that I poured drinks for our friends and why would I pour it back into the container to bring to you? She was very unprofessional and continued to argue with me next to the hostess stand. Other patrons at the bar had turned around to watch the show, along with new customers coming into the restaurant. I simply wanted the drink to be fixed so we could enjoy the evening with friends. In the intrest of customer service it would have made a world of difference to attempt to make the situation better. However I would not recommend Red River Cantina based on customer service. Obviously this is a issue, because other reviews have mentioned customer service was lacking. It is very unfortunate because there is a huge opportunity for this location to be very successful within the booming Mont Belvieu community! As a League City native I am familiar with the Red River Restaurants LLC (Red River BBQ, Red River Cantina) and the level of customer service was not comparable.
