We were traveling and looking for a place to stop for lunch. We like to try local places and were encouraged we made the right choice when we saw all the cars in the parking lot and drive through. Even though they were busy, it didn't take too long to get our food. Everything was delicious. We will definitely stop by here again next time when we travel to see family.
We were drawn in by the excellent reviews and overall the food was very good - lovely soft sweet pork rib, crispy freshly fried okra and great potato salad. However, the highly praised burnt ends are not burnt ends at all - just dry brisket off-cuts which we didn’t enjoy as they were so overcooked with no juicy fat and do not merit the $3 upcharge on a two-meat plate. Wish we’d saved our money and just got hot links on the plate.
I had the chopped brisket sandwich and it was so tender and delicious, especially the sweet sauce. My husband got the burnt end plate and he enjoyed it with the hot sauce. We dined in and the service was good, very prompt and polite. The peach cobbler was good too. Definitely recommend when in the area!
