Walking into the Lost Cajun was like a bit of home. The food was wonderful, lots of flavor with just enough heat. I love that you are brought a sampler tray. To give you an idea of what you might be ordering.
very good food and service just like south Louisiana
Excellent fried shrimp and catfish plate. Casual dining with patio area if you decide you would like to enjoy your meal on.
Atmosphere was good. Food was pretty good. Oysters high for being so small
The food was decent but over priced. My reason for the low stars was the EXTREMELY LONG WAIT and slow service.
Love the food & environment!
Absolutely amazing. Six free samples to taste their flavors! Great atmosphere. I watched the playoffs and ate too much.
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Great service too, highly recommended.
I took food to go a couple days ago and thought the red beans and rice and the gumbo passible but low on meat. Today I ordered the Jambalaya and had two very small slivers of shredded chicken that I had to dig through the rice to find. A bowl full of rice is not worth the price. Then when I mentioned it to my server, all I got from her was "yes that's the way it comes". Won't lose my way here again.
It was okay. Wanted boudain and this is the only place out here. The boudain balls were good. My sausage po boy is okay, I would order it again when I have a craving for it. But my boyfriends Alfredo wasn’t very flavorful so it was kind of a let down and there wasn’t much chicken on it.

It's a great place for those of us who enjoy Cajun food. I wish they had more options like crawfish broil, however everything I have had there has been very good. They also have a few less well-known brands of beer, some of which I really enjoy. The staff has always been very pleasant.
Great casual atmosphere and even better food!! We will return.
They have excellent sweet tea! That's what I liked most lol. Also, they give you a little sampler tray so you can try their dishes and see what you like before you order! The jambalaya I got was the best I've ever gotten from a restaurant. I'm very happy with the service too.
I am a seasoned degreed chef who adores food especially Cajun and I am a huge fan of the Lost Cajun in Midland. I tried this one in Odessa and I have to say the food was good but not what I expected. The Midland one set the bar. The service was good and friendly but the presentation on the food was sub par at best. My dish was drowned in ettouffe. The crisp catfish was soggy due to this and the rice portion was too small. I felt like I was eating a jumbylia. This is a favorite dish of mine it's is called cattoufe it 3 pieces of fried or blackened catfish on top of rice with creamy crawfish ettouffe on top of it all. I prefer the fried because the texture of crispy and creamy is wonderful only when it is not drowned. With this being said it still tasted good I just know the potential and was slightly disappointed. I did try the gator bites because it is a favorite of mine that I prepare often. I had to send the first batch back because it was way over cooked where it was very hard. The second batch was better but I could tell that it's not being processed correctly because it was tough. When you cut gator tail correctly it's very tender and only becomes chewy or tough upon sitting too long after cooking. I still found the food to be tasty and friendly service. I just write this because this is a unique establishment and I Know the potential is huge and by just correcting this minor mistakes the cuisine will be outstanding. This restaurant has the right idea.
Definitely not real cajun food.
