Visiting friends in Blaco. Could not miss a bbq dinner! No frills place but great food. Unfortunately they were out of ribs. So its gives me a reason to come back!
Met friends half way, the menu is expansive, the Brisket was very good, we were all pleased with our meals, the place is clean, the restrooms were clean. The people were all very friendly and helpful.
The Old 300 is a popular eating BBQ place in Blanco. The BBQ is delicious, the variety is great from brisket to chicken. Their sandwiches are excellent. My favorite is the "Willie Nelson," which is pretty much all the variety of meat the joint has on one bun. The chopped beef sandwich is a close second. Excellent service, and fun surroundings.
Gooooood brisket. Tender but not too tender. Good bark! Highly recommend the Willie Nelson sandwich with no bread, which just means you get pork loin, brisket, and jalapeño sausage on butcher paper. Yum!
Excellent selection of meats and different sides. Okra and fries are cooked fresh. It’s a little pricey but most BBQ is these days
They have some of the best BBQ. I have had the privilege of eating. On a scale of 1-10, I would give them a 10+++. P.S all their sides were just as good as the BBQ.
Becoming an annual trek to terrific BBQ in the Hill Country. A crowded Sunday lunch crowd, Ladd and his guys kept the food coming, fresh and delicious. Worth the drive from Dripping Springs or Johnson City.
We enjoyed our dinner here! You walk in, stand in line and order your food. We had asked for barbecue chicken, and they answered our questions, without letting us know that they didn't have any left. But we stood in line and we were hungry so we went for the brisket. It was tasty but not enough, so we ordered another 2 pieces and more fries. Very casual atmosphere. They give you the food on a plastic tray, no plates.
Stopped by for lunch just traveling thru town. Had the brisket and the pork ribs which were very good. Especially liked the ribs! Prices were reasonable and and service was great. Will definitely come back when back in the area.
Excellent bbq! A local couple in san antonio recommended the place and it was totally worth driving 35 minutes to this place. The food was delicious, plentiful and atmosphere was kind and obviously the place was full of locals enjoying the good food. Well worth visiting!

First of all the staff was super friendly and willing to help out. It was our first time having Texas BBQ, and it did not disappoint, loved the Brisket, Mac and Cheese, the Banana Pudding was great, Ribs (yum), cream corn. They even were able to entertain our kids with looking for a Dinosaur for a free dessert, never found it, but my kids had a ton of fun looking for it.
I generally do not like smoked meats, but I ordered their 1/2 chicken and couldn't believe the taste! The flavors just went on and on throughout the meat. Their mac & cheese was thick and gooey. Yum!!
Fantastic BBQ, wicked friendly service, family run vibe, caring people. These are the things I took away from a couple to-go experiences. Lots of unique sandwich offerings. I had A-kush brisket (outstanding), chicken, (crispy skin, yet moist meat), and sausage (very good). Counter service was friendly and welcoming. Food did not disappoint. Help yourself to condiments and a couple different types of sauce, all of which were tasty. Highly recommended!
The enjoyment started with getting out of the car. The air was filled with the smell of smoked beast. The smell intensified upon entering. We went at 6 pm, about an hour before closing. Some items were sold out, but they had plenty of smoke brisket and chopped beef. The portions were HUGE! The prices were reasonable compared to the portions. The drawback was no place to store leftovers because we were traveling. There was A LOT of leftovers that got thrown away. Music, decor, and ambiance was wonderful. Very Texas.
Love when BBQ joints offer wine -especially wine that is $3 a glass. Good ambiance and the sausage link was outstanding.
