Tried a random new place to eat tonight. I was in Pantego, so the closest Google search result won the draw. I landed at Saljo's Italian Cuisine for dinner where I selected the most standout item on the menu.
I first started with some Fried Mozzarella Sticks accompanied by some Marinara and Ranch to appease my hunger. Meanwhile the kitchen was preparing Mama's Crustless Pizza for my entrée. I thought it might be a pizza without edge crust. No, it was the pizza without any crust, including the bottom. I guess if you're going keto, this might be the ticket.
The mozzarella was battered and fried crispy. The ranch was my choice of dip. The crustless pizza was different but delicious using bread to sop up the pizza sauce. It was meaty and flavorful but a little dangerous while the cheese was still hot.
They didn't have regular sweet tea. Instead, they had a Raspberry tea that was sweet enough. Overall, a pleasant meal and unique Armed Forces decor throughout the restaurant. The service was excellent and courteous. I would love to try more sampling of their menu.

Comfortable atmosphere with lots of military/patriotic/Americana memorabilia. Extremely friendly staff. The food…amazing! You get bread for the table, which is a great way to get started before the entree rolls in. I had the chicken parmigiana with pink sauce (marinara/alfredo mix). The portions were extremely generous; the flavor was “chef’s kiss.” I will definitely be back. 100% recommend!

If there was a reason too reach the pinnacle of top 10 percent Italian restaurant reviewers in DFW for Google than it was to be to provide the restaurant I regard as the pinnacle of the Italian restaurants Saljo’s is here to cater to all walks of life. When you enter inside you see heritage and morals along with aromas of carefully pruned recipes that are tailored for Pantego and surrounding city’s. This place earned the five stars and earned 6 stars from me.

The Sicilian deep dish is my favorite!
Saljo’s is like stepping into a quirky time machine where the food’s tasty, but the real star is the random stuff plastered all over the walls—who needs a theme when you’ve got mismatched memorabilia from a thousand yard sales? The pizza’s great, but you’ll spend more time trying to figure out what that one weird framed picture is than actually eating. It’s a place where the atmosphere is as unexpected as a pizza with pineapple—either you love it, or you don’t!

Wonderful neighborhood place tucked away in a quiet corner of a strip center.
Bad employees. I was in the bathroom and one of the employees got mad at me and my friend for spraying febreez in the bathroom because it smelt bad in there and stated going around talking bad about us to other employees. Also the pasta we had was so uncooked and stuff.
The food is great and the service is wonderful. They make a mean bloody Mary and the owner is very personable.
We ordered two slices of pizza and baked ziti. They served us old pizza with random sprinkled cheese on top. The pizza was a 2/10. The crust was crunchy but we could tell it was old and dried out without sauce, it had an old layer of cheese at the bottom and randomly sprinkles fresh cheese on top. The baked ziti was good, not the best, we rate it a 4/10. We asked for a sprite and the waitress said she was out of sprite and coke so we just ordered water.
We weren’t acknowledge by the staff when we walked in, except for another random customer saying hi. There was only 4 other people outside of the staff so there shouldn’t have been any issues. The service seemed rushed, they told us the kitchen closed at 8:30. We got there at 8pm and their sign said they closed at 9pm. We asked for a to go box out of courtesy but we threw away the food as soon as we left. You can make better food at home or ordering from anywhere else. Never coming back.
This place was a delight
