This place is an absolute gem! Every time I stop by, I’m blown away by how fresh and delicious everything is. The kolache is easily my favorite—perfectly soft, flavorful, and so satisfying that I find myself craving it all the time. And the maple donut? Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The glaze has the perfect balance of sweetness without being overwhelming, and the donut itself is pillowy and light.
The staff is always warm and welcoming, and the shop has that cozy, inviting feel that makes you want to linger a little longer. Definitely my go-to spot whenever I’m in the mood for something sweet (or savory). Highly recommend!

Kolache was raw and mushy, cake donuts soft and no sorta raw as well.. not baked long enough on 2 simple items… icing was wet to touch … missing something? THIS IS WHY the owners bought a donut shop… because they don’t know what they are doing and took the easiest opportunity

I stopped at Southern Maid Donuts late on a Sunday morning with my wife and son and bought a cake donut, cinnamon roll, glazed donut, and a frosted sprinkle donut, all for only $5 as a fun snack. I was hoping to find an awesome donut shop in Paris, TX, but alas, that was not the case. While the prices were great and the staff was friendly, the donuts were average at best. The cake donut was very soft, bordering on underdone. The cinnamon roll was pretty tasty, basically a glazed donut loaded up with cinnamon. My wife had a glazed donut, which she said was fine. My young son devoured his frosted sprinkle donut- he was definitely the happiest of our group.
I'm hoping that we just caught the shop on a bad donut day. If nothing else, the donuts are cheap and plentiful. We ate in, but there is a handy drivethru if you need a quick donut. Credit is accepted for transactions $5 and up.

My new GO TO donut shop! I’m super picky when it comes to donuts. I want soft, delicious pillowy clouds that melt in my mouth that aren’t just pure overpowering sugar or taste days old. Southern Maids has the recipe for pure sunshine and happiness in a donut! Their donuts are the best! The kolaches are light and fluffy and not dense and doughy like some other places. The glazed donuts are perfectly “maid” 😋. Highly suggest this place!
