Stopped in on a Friday at 12:15. After waiting 20 mins with not that many customers inside, we were informed they only had turkey and sausage left, no sides. We took what we could get. It wasn’t worth the wait or the price. Turkey lacked flavor, sausage was poor. Overall poor experience.

I heard this place was in the top 50 bbq places according to Texas Monthly so I decided to visit even though I live in the Fort Worth area. Boy was that a bad idea. I drove 5 hours here and booked a hotel just to find out they closed the whole week. There was nothing posted on their website at all as I checked before and after. This was about a year ago now but as you can see this left a berry bottle taste in my mouth. 10 hours of driving and a hotel room for nothing.

Pody’s BBQ in Pecos, Texas, was hands-down the best barbecue we had during our time in the Lone Star State—and that’s saying a lot. From the moment we walked up and smelled the smoker working its magic, we knew we were in for something special.
The brisket was incredibly tender with just the right amount of smoke, and the ribs practically fell off the bone. Every bite was rich with flavor and clearly made with pride and experience. The sides were just as satisfying, rounding out a classic Texas BBQ experience that hit all the right notes.
Service was fast and friendly, and the casual setup let the food do all the talking. Whether you're passing through Pecos or planning a detour just for the meal, Pody’s is worth it. Absolutely unforgettable and worthy of every bit of praise it gets.

Bring your A-Game for this Que!! One if the best I’ve had in Texas! It beat Terry Blacks in Lockhart, TX hands down.
I ordered the two meat plate of Pulled Pork and Moist Brisket with Coleslaw and Green Chili Hominy. The meat portions alone are enough to fill you up.
Plan accordingly and arrive early. They are known for running out. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
