Heated in doors pool. Nice clean room, and dogs allowed.
I have eaten here several times over the years because it's the only restaurant in town. They don't provide menus, The burgers are always soggy and gross, if they happen to have fries they are never seasoned, chicken fried steak tasted like the meat was spoiled, and the breakfast burritos have miniscule amounts of fillings. Your best bet is the "catfish". Also make sure you order a full hour before close or else you'll have a mouth ran to you even if you're a kid. Inside and out looks really sketchy too.

I came over a thousand miles to eat here. Actually I came to Petersburg to pickup a water tank trailer at Wylie’s Manufacturing Co. and I was told there was two choices of places to eat lunch, either Allsup’s Convenience Store or The Kountry Kitchen. I had the chicken taco with a salad and it was fantastic. I’ll most likely come here again if I ever go back to Petersburg. There’s not a whole lot of cellphone service in Petersburg, but the Kountry Kitchen has Wi-Fi so you can surf while you are eating.
Parking: I had no problem with parking and I had a trailer attached. This is Texas, there’s plenty of room.
The food is so good but the staff is what hooked me. Great experience. I will be back. Highly recommend!
Favorite home town diner! The breakfast burritos are absolutely the best with homemade salsa.

How do yo run out of barbecue ribs, bone in chicken and ends at a barbecue restaurant at 630 pm on a Sunday night? And forget to bring the first item ordered, grilled pineapple (for a toddler) three times saying the servers brought it to the wrong tables. Then bring it at the end of the meal without comping it. Or serving the apps with the meal, again blaming it on the servers. Right on. You know who you are, Mr. Waiter. We left you a tip you did not deserve, just to keep the peace. Perhaps your server friends or manager will settle up with you. Right on!
Came here after an event at the Tropicana nearby. Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. There were 4 in my party. We were seated immediately although it was on the late side. I got BBQ pulled pork with baked beans and a cucumber and tomato salad. It was all very good. Others in my group got Ribs, tacos and a sandwich with fries. Everyone liked their food. One person got fries which she said tasted more like chips but were very good. My only issue was that parking was limited. Parked a few blocks away. Very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Its a country- picnic theme.
NO BEEF, RIBS OR PORK available....no potatoes available, no mac and cheese available, no street corn available....and who opens a BBQ restaurant without ribs !!?!?!?!?!??!?!??! This was a waste of time and money. Maybe this spot is going to rebrand as a vegetarian BBQ! BRUTAL!
We have been frequent cast of Dr. Bar-B-Q whoever on this lunch visit it was poor. I tried to pull chicken it was all fatty. The server was happy to exchange me with beef brisket, however that was so dry it was nearly like beef jerky. Chalk it up to a bad day and we will take a pause for a few months until we go back
We went to Dr. BBQ recently on a Monday for lunch. The venue looks very cool and definitely fits a bbq restaurant. You can smell the smoke as you enter the dining area (there is also outdoor seating). Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The menu offers some intriguing variants of normal bbq staples. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, which came with fries. The sandwich included purple slaw on it, and the fries were uniquely cut slices of potato which were seasoned with salt and pepper nicely. The pork was moist and delicious, but the chunks were large enough that it made it impossible for my wife to eat it as a sandwich, and had to bring out the fork and knife. I ordered the Texas Two Step - a combo dinner of two meats and two sides. I ordered brisket and turkey, but was told they were out of turkey, sausage, and half chickens. That eliminated a good portion of the menu, so I went with pulled chicken. For sides I had "cowboy caviar" - a chilled mix of black beans, corn, cilantro, onion, and jalepeno. The menu did not indicate this was served chilled, and had I known it was not a warm dish, I would have opted for something else. I also ordered the Jack Daniels baked beans, and the whiskey flavor was indeed noticeable. The brisket was tender and delicious, while the pulled chicken was a bit on the dry side. The sauces were tasty and went well with the various meats. Each of the sauces had at least a little heat to them. We decided to order a dessert that actually appeared on the appetizer menu - grilled pineapple. It was the most disappointing thing we ate on this visit. It came with no grill marks and no cinnamon glaze that was visible even though it was given in the menu description. Upon tasting it, the pineapple was still mostly raw, and it was obvious that they had just thrown it in the smoker. It was smudged with soot and tasted heavily of smoke. We left the dish after tasting a few bites. We have seen Dr. BBQ on the Food Network and hoped that it would be a truly memorable bbq experience. Unfortunately, it was not. We are not upset that we tried it, but we would not be likely to return based on our experience.

Had the fish plate and it was good .friendly people. Thanks guys
We’ve traveled around the country sampling bbq, so we know what good bbq tastes like. This was one of the biggest disappointments. Brisket was extremely dry, pulled pork had no flavor, fries were cold. The server did send a second plate, the fries were warm but the meats were unchanged. Definitely not what we were expecting.
I've been in the area working for the last few months and eating here 3 times or more a week. I have tried several items from the menu and haven't found anything I didn't like, if you're in the area you definitely need to eat here.
The service hasn't always been consistent however for a BBQ joint, hands down my favorite. Nice atmosphere and options for everyone.
