An old timey cafe with a nice variety on the menu from soup and salad to main course entrees for lunch and dinner and what looks like a great breakfast menu. My meatloaf was acceptable but not the greatest. The salad my wife had was large and delicious.

We were a bit concerned about where we might find a place for dinner after arriving after 6pm at the Opera House and Hotel in Death Valley Junction, but we were pleased to find out that dinner was available - about 7 miles north - until at least 9pm (it seems that they close when the business is slowing down, so don't wait too long before showing up - it seems that their primary customers are people staying at the Longstreet Inn.) We had a classic burger and a BBQ bacon burger - quite large, with more fries than you could possibly eat. If you want anything alcoholic with your meal, you just walk over to the bar, pay/pick them up there and bring them back to your table. Another major plus about stopping at Jack's - if you are heading into Death Valley, is the price of gasoline - $2 less per gallon than what you would find in Furnace Creek!

The Cafe has a good-sized menu, and the food is excellent. The prices are a bit on the high side, but considering where you are, it's to be expected. The staff are great. You wait a bit for the food so keep that in mind if you're on a schedule. But the food is definitely worth the wait. My only complaint is since the cafe shares space with the casino the smoke smell is awful. We will definitely return.

Enjoyed a tasty and reasonably priced breakfast while staying on night at Longstreet Inn. Their menu for lunch and dinner looked great as well.

We ate several meals here and the rating is the same for all of them: the food was better than one would expect out miles from anywhere, and the service was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is good, and dinner is better than good. Fridays and Saturdays there is evening entertainment which was better than good out here 100 miles from Vegas.

We stopped for gas and lunch at Longstreet Casino, where Jack's Cafe is located, and it was a wonderful surprise. We had a delicious patty melt and chicken wrap and even won a few buck on the slot machines before we left! Everyone was friendly and attentive. Added bonuses: There is a petting zoo nearby and the Big Bovine of the Desert, which are perfect photo ops for your Nevada-California line experience.

The food was very average. I would not reccomend pasta dishes. You will probably go better with meat. But not much options in the area

This restaurant is a small, semi-enclosed area at the Longstreet Inn and Casino. It is somewhat separated from the bar and casino, however you can purchase alcohol at the bar to enjoy with your meal. We ate both lunch and dinner here. Our servers, although busy, did a great job. The menu has a variety of sandwiches, salads, and entrees, all reasonably priced. This is not a gourmet restaurant serving food and ingredients you've never heard of before in a fancy atmosphere. It serves standard fare that is tasty, served hot, and in a simple atmosphere.

We visited Jacks Cafe 3 times while staying at the Longstreet Inn. It is located inside the Longstreet Inn and has limited hours from 8 a.m. to 8 or 9 pm depending on the day. The first time was for dinner. The food and service were good until we asked for the check. Their computer and internet were down and could not offer us our bill. People were pretty much stuck in the restaurant area, unable to pay and leave. I asked for the amount so I could pay cash, but they said they could not figure the amount out because they could not determine the amount of tax owed. Eventually I was able to find out the tax rate. So we could add up the totals including the tax and could convince the staff we were paying the correct amount. The second time we tried to go for breakfast, but the tables were full. So we asked if we could get a take-away order but were informed that it would take just as long since the kitchen staff was backed up. We elected not to have breakfast there. The third time we had dinner. The food and service were fine and we were even able to get the bill. This is the only place to eat at the Longstreet Inn. (Their other restaurant is currently closed.) The small size of the restaurant and relatively late opening time for breakfast mean this is unlikely an option if you wish to get out and explore nearby Death Valley.

I won't base this review on the service as COVID makes everything challenging so we've learned to be patient. Dinner food was ok Nothing to write home about. But after a long day at Death Valley a shower and a sit down meal was great. The fried shrimp and chicken parmesan patty we clearly pre-prepared frozen foods. Chicken parm decription said angel hair pasta but it was spaghetti. Not a big deal if you love pasta in any form I guess. I really only like angel hair so that was disappointing. But the Caesar salad was large with loads of fresh, crisp romaine lettuce. We shared it. Breakfast was much better. Eggs, bacon and hash browns cooked perfectly. Plenty of decent coffee.

Pretty tasty diner food with average prices. Service was very good and every one were wearing masks and following health rules.

We've dined here a few times and everytime it was good. Considering everything a little pricey, but hey you're not far from the middle of nowhere so that can be expected.

Nothing spectacular but a great place to stop along the way. I was more impressed with the decor of the casino that anything else. The menu was all of the typical greasy spoon diners but I don't mean that in a derogatory way. Denny's take note. Ample portions, good prices, good service. Isn't that what is expected? The casino is small but has many interesting displays. I didn't check out the hotel but this would be an option if you were visiting Death Valley National Park but didn't want to camp or pay the prices at the Inn in the park.

We stayed two nights at Longstreet Inn, to see Death Valley. The first night we ate at the steakhouse upstairs, and I gave it a great review. The second night, and breakfast the next morning, we ate at Jack's. Overall it was very good. Wide variety on the menu; talented cooks. Service was very slow both times, but it was high season for D.Valley and the hotel was packed. But our servers were talented, kind, and helpful, just overworked. Highly recommend! They had GREAT whole-wheat bread, and a great vegan patty, and b'fast entres were very good.
