I ordered their gumbo for a change of pace. The gumbo was okay. It was kind of spicy and strangely the onion and bell pepper in it was in huge pieces? It came with potato salad which was also just okay. Way too many red pimento type pieces. The next time I go back I'll stick with barbecue.

Hands down Billy Joe's barbecue is the best barbecue in the golden triangle area of Texas. Owners are very nice people and it's locally owned. They'll even cook fry or smoke your holiday turkeys for a reasonable price and they end up so deliciously cooked . I prefer mine smoked .. simply wonderful.

This food reminds of nursing home food. Very little effort on side dishes except the potato salad. It was amazing. The sausage was pretty good but everything else should have been scraped in the trash. The ribs haz no meat on them and they were as tough as beef jerky. The broker was bland. Not much of a flavor whatsoever. The green beans were straight from a can and disgusting. The Mac and cheese tasted like sub par butter noodles. The sauce tasted like tomato sauce. Don’t waste your money.
Picked up the Mothers Day special. It was fantastic. Great chicken and brisket. Best potato salad around.

They also have always had wonderful food and amazing service. It’s my grandma’s first birthday without her husband and Billy Joe’s sure did make it special for her. They portray their faith, which I love.The food was so great; I got the brisket with coleslaw, Mac and cheese and dirty rice. I wasn’t sure what dirty rice was, and the nice lady gave me a sample—a good sample. It was so good!Also, they wrote “we believe in you” on my styrofoam. Wow!I will be back.
