I waited in line 1hour and 45 minutes on a Saturday. I ended up spending $135.00. By far the best briskit I've ever had. I had the cornbread pudding and the banana pudding and the cheesy potatos also. Everything was fantastic. Great people working there too.

Can’t say enough good things about this place other than the line was out the door which is a great sign! Everyone was super friendly. The owner was serving food and chatting to everyone. They built our platter right in front of us. This is the best barbecue I’ve ever had. And to make it better, a guy we met in line covered our meal. Thank you John in the UT hat. The food was amazing too. I enjoyed the ribs and turkey the most but it was all good. I will be coming back soon. Very good experience.

Best brisket I have ever had. Hands down. Burnt ends are heaven. All of the meat here is fantastic. I see people driving from all over the country to try this since it made BBQ bible Texas Monthly’s 4th best BBQ in the state list. Scallop potatoes are unbelievable. The Persian sausage is something only made here and it is really something special. There is an intimidating line to get in but it moves fast. This is the highest quality best cooked food in Southeast Texas hands down.

This is the BEST BBQ we've ever eaten! Tender, juicy brisket; tender, flavorful smoked turkey; amazing cornbread pudding (yes pudding), and scalloped potatoes! Go after 12:30 & the lines won't be as long to get inside.

Number 5 in the new bbq list. Over all I would agree with their judgement. Definitely top ten worthy, everything they put on the tray was good. All cuts were seasoned well and had the right bark, but if we are to nitpick because they are on the top ten, everything was dryer than expected. Their sides are all above average compare to many others on the list.

For what this is worth the food and service were great , this was our third visit and we will be back. But I do have a complaint about having to stand inline for an hour and a half in 100 degree temperatures without any real shade or way to stay remotely cool . I would like to recommend an awning with possibly a few misting fans , the people we were standing in line with were really struggling with the heat. 8/02/2025

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Redbirds BBQ is the real deal! We arrived early with family visiting from Utah to introduce them to authentic Texas brisket—and boy, did Redbirds deliver.

We ordered brisket by the pound (it’s the only way to go!), along with burnt ends, sausage, censor slaw, potato salad, potato casserole, corn pudding, and rolls. Each tray came generously loaded with pickled veggies, carrots, onions, jalapeños, and pickles—a must-have for any BBQ feast.

The brisket was undeniably the star, boasting an incredible smoke ring, flavorful bark, and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness—exactly how true Texas brisket should be. Our family from Utah declared it the best brisket they’ve ever tasted! The burnt ends were perfectly caramelized nuggets of smoky heaven, and the sausage was juicy and bursting with flavor.

The sides were solid, but let’s be honest—great BBQ starts and ends with the meat, and Redbirds proves their pitmaster knows exactly what they’re doing.

Texas Monthly ranks Redbirds at #4 on their Best Texas BBQ list, but in my book, it’s #1.
