I’ve been to Porter Snowballs three times now, and unfortunately, the last two visits were extremely disappointing. My first experience was great—I believe it was the owner (an older lady) and her son who helped me, and she was incredibly kind and welcoming. That visit left a positive impression, so I decided to return.
However, my next two visits were the complete opposite. Both times, I was assisted by a much younger girl (very slender) who clearly does not enjoy being there. Her attitude was rude, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. The first time, I gave her the benefit of the doubt—everyone has bad days. But when I went back the following Saturday a little after 2pm and encountered the same negative attitude, it became clear that this is just how she operates.
To make matters worse, the snowball was sloppily made. There wasn’t enough syrup in the ice, but there was plenty dripping down the sides of the cup from poor preparation. It was messy and just felt like zero care went into it.
At this point, I’ve decided that if she’s at the window when I pull up, I’ll just turn around—but honestly, why even take the risk again? There are other snowball stands in the area, and I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Very disappointed with how quickly the quality and service declined.

Shaved ice make the best snow cone. We’ve been going there for over 40 years. Grandma ran it back then and it was on 1314 next to Ricardo’s Mexican food.
