Food is fairly good based on today and several years of coming here. Bartenders are great , but table servers lack sense of attention and friendliness. Surprised by quality of serving glasses notice the chip on the plastic wine glass. No draft beers but plenty of alcohol choices for mixed drinks. Lots of locals are regularly here. Atmosphere is semi quiet, except for the occasional children and teens. Live entertainment on Saturdays. Slow-cooked BBQ on property that many people order, but have not personally tried it. Great outdoors view.

Disappointed in our service yesterday. Showed up at 6:20 with a party of 9, said the wait was 30 minutes which was no problem until 2 separate parties of 6 came behind us and they sat them…. With empty tables next to them they could have moved over. Complained to the manager and she said the tables outside are bolted down and don’t move. She said they couldn’t scoot tables inside because they were in different sections even though they were close together to accommodate us. They then have a whole area cleared and people start coming in and seating, we ask what is going on and they say they have a party of 50 that reserved the day prior, but we have tried to make reservations in the past and they said they weren’t allowed. The kicker is they moved tables around outside for the party of 50, the tables that were “bolted down”. The manager then shows us to a table for 6 and says she can seat our party of 9 here if we didn’t want to wait and we would just have to try and squeeze us in….. ummm, no. We are finally seated at 7:12 at a suitable table and we place our orders. We started with calamari and I’ve never had calamari so overcooked that after a few pieces the roof of my mouth could take no more. Our dinner orders finally came out at 8:00, an hour and 40 minutes after arrival. My husband ordered a shrimp po boy and there were 3 1/2 shrimp on the whole sandwich. Our waitress was amazing and tried to please us and my dinner was good but the manager lies and does not know how to manage.
We love the Island Bar and Grill! It is right on the water of Lake Texoma and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed outside (patio seating) and most patio tables have umbrellas for shade. Yes, the Island overlooks the marina with ramps down to the boat dock. The food is excellent and fresh, there are many choices for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the music is a good mix (glad they don't play rap, lol). I'm gluten sensitive and they have several food choices I can enjoy (stuffed avocados are delish!) On Sunday, they have $3 Mimosas all day long.
In the fall, they are only open on weekends through October.

Visiting the area we discovered this restaurant at the marina on Lake Texoma.
What a wonderful experience.
Fantastic atmosphere, good food , and very attentive service.
The menu had good variety.
I recommend the fresh catfish and sides.
The bar was a central feature and well stocked.
Nothing like sharing a meal at a this restaurant on a beautiful lake.
Leave your city life and spice it up at The Island Bar and Grill

We have had the worst experience every time we try to go here. I never write reviews but we have been here 5 or 6 times and every time it is awful. Last time we were here we waited for 1.5 hrs to get a water on a Sunday. Then tonight we went with our 21 year old who was not drinking and they were so rude as we both ordered a drink at the bar and they said she could not sit there drinking a water.
It’s unfortunate bc we have a boat on the lake but would highly recommend Pelican Landing 1000x over the island.

Disappointing. This was a very nice restaurant years ago.
We were seated at a table that wobbled and could not be corrected with the old napkin under the table. We even tried to spin it to tighten the bolt, but no. I asked if we could move to the open table next to us but the waitress said, “Sorry, that’s not in my section, but I’ll tell my manager.”
The Caribbean Salad sounded great on the menu, but ended up being a bowl of iceberg lettuce with canned pineapple, and canned mandarin orange slices.
We were seated quickly and service was friendly and quick.
It IS great to be on the water, and the view is very enjoyable. I just wish it was enclosed like it was before and air conditioned.
