We love Big Bo Sherms! We make it a point to eat here everytime we camp at Navarro Mills Lake. The burgers are phenomenal. Good greasy handmade burgers. Yum! And we love chatting with the owner when we visit.

Following a peaceful day by the lake, we decided to sample a local eatery before returning home. A quick Google search led us to Big Bo Sherman's BBQ, which boasted impressive reviews.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by Mr. Bo himself. His hospitality and demeanor were genuinely inviting, complemented by his charming Texan/Louisianan accent.
I selected the brisket and sausage plate accompanied by beans and potato salad, while my companion opted for a baked potato topped with brisket and a side of ribs.
The brisket appeared to be oven-prepared rather than smoked, lacking both smokiness and flavor, and was disappointingly dry. Similarly, the ribs seemed oven-cooked, with no trace of smoke or distinctive taste. Their texture was unpleasantly soft and ultimately unsatisfying.
The beans emerged as the highlight of the meal, offering a peppery depth and rich flavor profile. As for the potato salad, I found it inedible—resembling mustard-infused mashed potatoes rather than traditional potato salad.
Mr. Bo's exceptional customer service and friendly personality deserve recognition. However, his barbecue style simply didn't align with our preferences.

We decided to stop and grab some BBQ and we are so glad we found this little hidden gem. The Shermanator was amazing and so was the baked potato. The owner is so sweet and we really enjoyed our conversation with him. We will be back for sure!

Stopped by and got some BBQ. I was very disappointed I didnt get to try the ribs. They ran out so I would suggest getting there early for that. Got a brisket sandwich. It was good. Loved the beans that came with it. There is a small outdoor eating area so that was great.
