The create your own bowl 🥣 is the way to go. Load you down with good amount of meat. The sauce was tasty and the pies 🥧 are fresh. Definitely 1 of the better BBQs in East Texas.

I ordered food for pick up, got home & my order was missing something. I called up there & they asked me to come back up & they not only had my missing portion of the order but also an extra gift. They were very apologetic & respectful. Austin behaved as a gentleman & took responsibility to more than make it right. And, the meal was delicious, as expected from Soulman’s👍🏻

Was very disappointed that they were out of the half chickens, being the special of the month. I can see them running out before closing time, unfortunately, this was during dinner time. I normally don’t write bad reviews UNLESS THE EXPERIENCE LEFT A BAD TASTE, we normally just don’t go back to the place. The atmosphere was ok, couldn’t taste the food, and therefore it’ll stay as a negative, the reason for the bad review is aa follows: there was no sense of urgency, or apologetic attitude. The fact that nothing else was offered as replacement (IM NOT TALKING FOR FREE) to try and have us stay leads me to think this happens often. I can see why there were maybe 3 tables occupied during dinner rush. GOOD BBQ JOINTS are hard to come by, and this one disappointed.

The manager Jorge has the most disgusting attitude. He is a hateful person. He discriminates against young black teens by having them come in for interviews and immediately turning them away once they arrive. I don’t know why a grown man would be so hateful and discriminatory towards young innocent teens that are simply trying to do positive things.

Hiring Manager Jorge Manriquez discriminates against young black teens and denies them an opportunity to interview after selecting them for an interview, schedule a interview appointment by email and conforming via text but when the candidate comes to the interview with dreads hairstyle associated with ethnicity/race Jorge discriminates and tells the teen it’s their policy to hire “short-haired people “ and he has to cut his hair off if he wants to work there, even after the candidate offers to wear a net or pull back the dreads if necessary.

All I bought was the 16oz pinto beans and 16oz cubed potatoes. Both were so salty that we couldn't eat it, but it was too late to take them back, as they would be closed by the time I got back up there. They charged $19.46 for those two bowls. Unreal in my opinion!
