While riding across town with my current side chick, we happened upon an unexpected little gem of a Mexican restaurant, tucked away on Sugar Rd. It is surrounded by houses and apartments, making it almost invisible to the eye. The restaurant has some of the most incredible food, and a wonderful clean, and inviting atmosphere. Although being modest in size, its cozy interior conceals a culinary treasure trove of spectacular flavors. Upon being seated we immediately asked for Mexican coke with a glass of ice. Mexican coke gives a cleaner, more natural, and flavorful taste. It also enhances the dining experience. Then we were served warm, freshly fried corn tortilla chips with a perfect salty crunch, paired with a bright, vibrant salsa bursting with the balanced flavors of fresh tomato, onion and peppers. We ordered Enchiladas Suizas and Guerra's Chile Relleno plates. They serve breakfast all day, so I ordered 2 eggs over easy, ala carte, because who can pass up an opportunity for fresh, delicious eggs. The eggs arrived with beautiful yellow yolks and glistening, soft whites, cooked to perfection. The homemade flour tortillas are amazing, delicious, soft, with a delicate texture and warm aroma that far surpasses any tortilla, I have ever tasted. The chicken enchiladas suizas looked beautifully presented at first glance, but the 4 lovely enchiladas fell short of my expectations. The enchiladas were covered with a minimal whisper of queso blanco and salsa verde rather than a smooth, generous and flowing melted, creamy layer. There is plenty of chicken inside, but was dry, severely lacking the juiciness and any flavors, that I was expecting. The enchiladas dish was missing the characteristic vibrant rich, creamy tang of the typical Suiza sauce. The use of a minimal amount of cheese, green sauce, and very little or no crema at all, smothering the enchiladas, resulted in a flavor profile that is a bit underwhelming, flat, and did not meet my expectations. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned, fluffy, with each grain tender and separate, and every bite filled with savory, aromatic flavor. The refried beans are rich, creamy, and deeply flavorful. The salad is a refreshing accompaniment of a small bed of crisp, shredded lettuce, topped with a spoonful of bright red, diced tomatoes, very nice. The fantasticly cooked Guerra's Chile Relleno features a light, fluffy, crisp, almost buttery, batter encasing a tender, roasted poblano pepper filled with delicious, melted cheese and picadillo, diced potatoes and is crowned with fresh, chunky ranchero sauce, creating a fiesta of flavor in every bite. It is unmistakably obvious that each chile relleno is handcrafted with love and patience, assuring a consistent satisfying texture, and a flavorful mouthwatering experience. The Guerra's Chile Relleno is most definitely a 5 star signature dish, that everyone should treat themselves to at least once in their lifetime. Although, I felt the enchiladas suizas fell short today, we left Guerra's Kitchen feeling completely content after eating Guerra's Chile Relleno, experiencing top-notch service, and enjoying the welcoming, fun, family vibe that made it a truly spectacular and memorable meal. I'm already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu..Especially the breakfast menu, and hamburgers with fries. Also, there are tables out front, under the patio cover, for outdoor dining when the weather permits.

🌮 A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering: Guerra’s Kitchen.
On a recent late lunch outing, I stumbled upon Guerra’s Kitchen and was instantly charmed. The clean, bright interior paired with upbeat music created a welcoming atmosphere that felt both fresh and inviting. Friendly staff greeted me with genuine warmth, setting the tone for a pleasant dining experience.
Though the menu is modest in size, each entrée appeared thoughtfully crafted. I opted for the puerco asado plate—and it did not disappoint. The vibrant red sauce might suggest fiery heat, but it was surprisingly mellow, with a beautifully balanced flavor that complemented the fork-tender pork.
Served alongside were traditional rice and beans, but the rice stood out with a rich, buttery taste that elevated the dish. Throughout the meal, the staff remained attentive and responsive, enhancing the overall experience.
💰 With generous portions and affordable pricing, Guerra’s Kitchen delivers exceptional value. It’s a spot I’ll gladly return to—and one I’d recommend to anyone seeking flavorful comfort food with a personal touch.

I called in my order for some enchiladas Verdes, I told the gentleman to please add some extra salsa Verde sauce on the enchiladas over the phone. I arrived 10 minutes later. They charged me. I waited while people came and went. They asked me 4 times if I had already paid. The gentleman gives me my plate. No napkins no bag no crackers no salsa, amd no extra salsa verde on my enchiladas. Chingao!!!! I had to ask for the bag. The bottom of the plate had alot of refried beans smeared all over the bottom. They say to give small business an opportunity. 😔 I should of taken myself to el pato instead.
The food is awesome and the staff is very friendly and welcoming!
