Just finished sightseeing at The Groto and La Bordie House in Rio Grande City and wanted a snack and drink to hold us over until dinner. Walked up the hill to The Texas Cafe and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is down home friendly, laid back and nostalgic, with walls covered in pictures that will take you back in time. They created plenty for our group to talk about during the meal. We were only needing drinks and a snack so decided to order a plate of tacos to share...
Have been eating at Texas for 50 years it was my husband favorite place to eat, and now my daughter and I go and enjoy. I told her that there was also a man by the name Wesley Rolling. He was a great cook and a waitress la colorada, and let's not forget Ruben. Great time.
I love this cute little place. If you enjoy eating at Grandma's house, you'll Love this place. From the moment I sip my coffee I felt as if My Grandma was at the kitchen. I ate the migas with huevos a la Mexicana along with potatoes and refried beans. I love the beans, just how my Grandma made them for me as a child. Thank you for such a beautiful abd lovely place that you have. Great service to and great price. I'll be coming back. God Bless!!
