Tonight was my first experience with this mom and pop restaurant. we have a family size of 7 and we spent $55. we received a 20 piece chicken order of livers and gizzards along with fries roll and yellow gravy.For what we got in terms of portion size, it was great. Not only I did it feed my family of 7, we have leftovers, which is amazing. I personally have a large appetite and I was satisfied. The flavor of the crust on the chicken was amazing. Little bit of sizzle, in terms of seasoning, and it was great not too much just enough. Typically, with past experience and chicken restaurants. After you get it into the mseat of the chicken, it gets dry. Tonight, that was not the case. When I was biting into the chicken, it was still very moist. On the inside, great flavor right? Great taste, never dry. each bite was very moist, loved it. The gizzards and livers were both very delicious. Great portion sizes, good quantity. i've been looking for a good chicken restaurant since the chicken shack closed down years ago, and I think I've found my new destination. great experience, love the food, love the portion size. We will be back.

OMG is an understatement on how good the food is!!The chicken was well seasoned and juicy! The fish had a great crust and flavor and so did the shrimp! I loved the tartar sauce. I wasn’t able to try the gizzards because I had already ordered all this delicious goodness. So next time I’ll be ordering the gizzards. The price was very reasonable for all I ordered. So if you have not tried Barrera’s Chicken 🍗 it is a MUST!! PS: as busy as they get the wait was not long at all!!

Best fried chicken in Robstown? To many regulars, this drive up fried chicken stand is the answer to the above question. Personally, I can not abide the amount of salt applied to very good fried chicken. The generous French fries were just ok, but perhaps a very little under cooked or not quite hot. The gravey was excellent. The slaw was good and of the mayo rather than vinegar style.
I ordered the fish plate, and we also ordered two chicken plates. There was some confusion regarding the logistics and I had chicken.
There are two 8 (?) person picnic style red tables under roof and open air adjacent to the building. There was adequate street parking around the building...
This is a very popular food establishment, with very reasonable prices, that is very well patronized. I would need to ask them to hold the salt, which seems the primary ingredient of their red pepper seasoning.

NEVER AGAIN. We’re not sure what the hype is about the chicken. Absolutely ZERO flavor… super crispy… juicy, BUT flavor is missing. If you want a grease ball sitting heavy on your stomach, by all means take the risk. They stay busy though. Our group all felt the same way… waste of $$.
