Julie Lopez is the best server hands down at Railroad. She was energetic and very informative about the menu. She was attentive but did not hover over our table which is perfect. I can’t wait to see Julie again soon and enjoy the amazing food and atmosphere at Railroad in Calallen on 624

We visited at lunch on a weekday so there was no waiting and plenty of seating available. The dining area is large so even with other patrons dining it was still very spacious. They even looked to have a large party room if you wanted to book for events. Service was fast and friendly. For an appetizer we got the bowl of Brussels which was delicious in my opinion but my husband said it was a bit sweet and preferred a bit more spice. I'd order it again. He ordered shrimp tacos 10/10, I ordered fish tacos 9/10, and our teenage son ordered mushroom Alfredo with grilled chicken 9/10. We left fully satisfied. Pricing was fair about $10-20 a person. Our only disappointment was that we hadn't visited sooner. We've lived in the area for going on 9 years and this was our first visit. We will definitely be back.

We are semi regular at the Railroad and every time is a great experience. Understand that i don't give 5bstars freely. I have eaten at a michelin star restaurant and this was not one. On this visit, the waiter did not know the menu so when I asked a question about a drink I regularly order he wasnt aware of the drink. We were not provided a drink menu which made it more difficult. He said he was new so I will give some allowances there.

The food was great but as usual the rice was undercooked. I don't like my rice hard at all.

We have never sat indoors here, always outside on the patio so i cant speak about the indoor atmosphere except it looked nice as I walked through it.

The patio... beautiful view of an orchard of trees, a playground for the kids, far enough away that you can barely hear the playful cries of delight, and close enough that you can see your kids clearly and get there quickly if needed. Most playgrounds are so close that you cant have a conversation over the cacophony of screams coming from the kids. Not the case here. It's very well placed.

On Saturday evenings they have a stage set up for a live band to play outside if that is your thing.

My experiences at Railroad Seafood & Brewery have been a bit of a letdown, and I'm hoping they can turn things around. I've visited three times now, and each time the food has unfortunately been the weakest link. I've tried three different dishes, and they were all consistently bland and uninspired, with a noticeable issue of being overly salty. It's a real shame because the atmosphere, the fantastic location, and the family-friendly entertainment are all top-notch. The potential for this place is through the roof.

However, the execution, particularly in the kitchen, needs a significant overhaul. I'd strongly suggest the management consider bringing in a new head chef to completely revamp the menu. The core concept is great, but the food just doesn't deliver. The service could also be improved with some additional training for the staff, and a bit more attention to cleanliness would help maintain a truly top-notch establishment. As someone who lives right down the street, I truly want to see this place succeed, but it needs a serious commitment to quality food and service to live up to its potential.

The food is very pricey for the quality. The hamburger was salty and the fries tasted as if they sat out for a while before being served. My daughter’s pasta was hard from likely sitting out while the other food was prepared. I cannot speak on the other dishes but do not purchase the $20 hamburger. The atmosphere is great, offering an outdoor playground which my daughter loved. However, the food was a complete disappointment.

Food was good, our server Valerie was extremely friendly and very attentive, she was smiling each and every time she checked on us (which is unusual these days ) would definitely ask for her next time we go back
